Crowds during November 2004?

Hi,

I'm new to the boards, but I am thrilled with all of the great information I have found here!

I've been to WDW many times, but always go at the end of January. We usually fly down on Wednesday afternoon and come back on Sunday. We're planning our next trip for November 2004, and I am trying to decide which week to go. We want to avoid crowds if possible and based on what I've read here, I believe that:

New Jersey week will end with the weekend of the 6th/7th
Super Soaps will occur the weekend of the 13th/14th

It seems like the week beginning Monday the 15th is our best option, but I was hoping to go earlier in the month. So, would anyone care to speculate on what the parks may be like during the first week?

Thanks!
Kristen

We typically go the second week in November and have never had to deal with a lot of crowds. From our experience, MGM is a little more crowded on the weekend but it is still managable. We hardly ever have to wait more than 10-15 minutes for any rides.

The weather is great, too! In all our trips, it has only rained one day and then it was only a brief shower. We wore shorts the entire time, too.

Hope this helps!

We like to go in Nov. and have been every week over the years. My favorite is the week BEFORE Thanksgiving. The week of the 15th 2004. It is like having the parks to yourself. My next chioce is the week after Thansgiving, even arriving on Sat or Sun of Thanksgiving weekend is doable as long as you plan and by Mon. the parks are not crowded at all. Last on my list would be the weekend around the 13. It is much more crowded as many schools, not just NJ, have that weekend off for fall teacher meetings. The weather in Nov is really nice!:D

We went last Nov. from the 8th through the 16th, catching the tail end of Jersey Week and the Super Soap Weekend. The crowds were lighter than on our usual week, first week in March. On the Sat. of SS weekend, we hit MGM for EE and the 'crowd' at the Rope Drop was less than 10 deep, the smallest EE opening crowd we've ever seen in any park. The rides were all walk-ons, didn't use FastPass all day. The booths holding the stars sucked the crowds from the rides.
I forgot to mention, it was also the last week of the Epcot Wine&Food festival, and I didn't notice any more congestion than we're used to at other times of the year. I'd do that week again in a minute.

We, too are planning our next trip for the 2nd week of November, 2004. We just got back last week.....last year, we went the final week of April/first week of May....so we hunt for off times and no crowds!
But, we also enjoy the water parks as much as anything else...and love our swims in the pool! I know November is typically dry, but warm enough to swim? How about at night? I do see that both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are open that month, so that encourages me!

The second week of November (when we typically go) is pretty warm - sometimes even hot. We've swam every time we've been. Night temps vary and depend on which park you're in. Epcot at night can get chilly, especially if you're walking around World Showcase. It's a GREAT time to go!

Thanks EJ! So I take it, with the varying temps after dark, night swims are usually out? (We love a poolside night at the condo with the pina coladas flowing from the cabana bar!)
By the way, since you're an Epcot Junkie, we tried LeCellier for the first time last week and loved it!!!

The weather can be very nice! Last year was definitely cooler than we expected. We wore jeans and a jacket in the morning and evening (didn't need it during the day). We only swam 1 time and it felt cool. The years before that we were comfortable in shorts and swam everyday. Just be prepared for it too be both warm and cooler by taking layers and a jacket. :teeth:
