Crowds and weather during fall break

This is my first time to start a thread, so I hope this is in the proper place. I apologize in advance if not!

My family has gone to WDW the past couple of years during free dining (just got back on tues. this week...so much fun!), but next year we are planning on going during the second to last week in October over fall break. We are wanting to do this because my husband is a teacher and can only take so many days off, so by going over fall break we could stay longer. This is going to be a grand gathering trip, with 4 kiddos in total (7 yr old, 5 yr old, 2 1/2 yr old, and 15 mo old at the time of travel). Anyway........just curious about crowds and weather at this time. Mostly concerned about crowds.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Just curious about your Fall Break. We don't not have one where we live - how long is it and is it the same dates every year? Thinking not all school districts will have a break at the same time so that shouldn't be a problem with crowd concerns. We go this time every year for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival and have never had a problem. It's usually still summer but you never know, you could get a random cold snap but that's all relative depending on what you are used to. We get up early, do rope drop, hit everything by noon, then are back at Epcot to eat and drink around the world every day!

Our fall break is usually the Thursday and Friday of the 3rd week in October. We have been before and its not bad at all.

Ours is too. We used to call it MEA (MN Educators Assoc.) but now it's called something different. Anyway, every public school in our state is off for that Thurs. & Friday.

I am glad to hear that is doesn't seem too crowded. We are leaving next week during our fall break. I looks like the weather is going to be nice for us.

Thanks everyone for the replies! This is great to hear! Our fall break this year is Oct 22 & 23rd.....just two days,thurs. and fri, but this allows us to be gone a full week when DH uses his personal days. Glad to hear the crowds should be good. I just REALLY don't want it to be too busy. Now lets hope they will extend free dining through these dates next year!
