I'm planning on joining the 1/2 marathon in 2013. After the weekend Id like to stay for the remainder of the week - does anyone know how crowded the parks are the week after the marathon? :confused3

Generally Sunday and Monday post marathon are still crowded, but the crowds really start to die down after that.

We found the parks to be dead during the actual races on Saturday and Sunday. We went to MK after the 1/2 had finished passing through there on Saturday and walked on every ride in Fantasy land and Adventure land before the short waits started. On Sunday we went to HS and even though the marathon was passing through there, the lines were short. We haven't stayed past monday before, but will this year. Hopefully the crowds are similar to what we've experienced on race days!

We went in for marathon weekend 2010. We arrived the Fri before the races, and stayed until the Friday after. (we did not participate in any race activities, I just started running the year after our trip).

We found the crowds to be minimal. The weather was ifffy. It snowed when we got there and we laughed because the news told us that it was actually warmer in Juno, Alaska than it was in Orlando. Ut was cold and rainy, but being from the midwest, it was fine for us.

Crowds were minimal. We had ADR's for all of our dinners (dining plan), but as far as getting on rides and into attractions, we walked right on to all of them. Our last day, we started waiting in lines (20 mins to get on Thunder Mountain, when we had been walking straight through the queue and right onto the ride until then), but still not too bad.

Our plan is to do the same this winter - arrive a couple of days before the races (since DD and I will actually be running in the races this time!), possibly do WWofHP for a day or two, and then do all 4 parks, of course! :-)
