Crowd Projection Confusion

Hello Everyone

I notice that crowd projections for Friday November 9 on the MousePlanet Disneyland Update is only a 5 out of 10, however the crowd projections on the Is It Packed? website is a "Forget About It!" which is the highest rating they give.

As well, I have been noticing people mentioning that Mondays are now possibly busier than what would normally be thought, as well Forget About It puts it at a "Yup, it's packed" level.

This has me slightly confused as to what to do, Friday-No Friday? Monday-No Monday?

We will be there Nov 7-14 and have a 5 day park hopper. We are traveling a fair amount on the 7th so I think it best to start fresh on the 8th, and the 13th looks like a good choice, but for the remaining days, I am struggling with deciding.

Anyone have any suggestions or opinions they would like to throw in to help guide me in my decision making?

The 9th is the start of everything Christmas and the park will be very busy and like mom2rtk said it’s Veterans Day weekend. It will just be busy.

If it were me, I’d throw the crowd trackers away. A 6 is another persons 8... I just don’t get it. You know for sure you want to be there the 8th because you will be so excited! I would just play it “ear” and see how you all are feeling.

Yup, like they said between the holiday decor and Veterans Day it’ll be very busy. I chose Saturday over Friday since the SCal pass is blocked that day. Hoping that’ll make it manageable at least :).

Is the 14th an option? I’d include that day for sure if it is... 13th too. The whole weekend will be busy since it’s a three-day weekend and I suspect Monday the 12th will be very busy with people off school and work. I think the 8, 9, 10 are good bets but it’s going to be crowded regardless. On all days mornings will be much less busy than afternoons and evenings.

Friday won't be too bad until the afternoon/evening. I always go on the first day of the holiday stuff during the mornings/early afternoons, and it's never bad during the time I'm there.

One thing, though, if you go on Friday. Have low expectations for the Festival of Holiday booths if you go to them. They never seem to get their act together until a few days into being open. This is the case at EVERY single "festival" they do at DCA. Food will run out constantly, they won't have several items yet, and the cast members will often not be able to answer any basic questions. So, keep that in mind. Monday will likely be absolutely insane, so I'd recommend Friday, and not Monday.

I agree, based on past experience, I’d bet that Friday morning will be nice for a few hours, but by mid-afternoon, it will be a zoo. All weekend will be busy. Just rope-drop widely, use Maxpass if possible, plan for crowds, and go when it works out best for your family!
