Crowd levels in mid-October

I am planning a trip for October 18-23 2007. I have only been to Disney World in September and was wondering what the weather and crowd levels were like in mid-October. Also, DH is wanting to try to go to the PGA golf tournament that is held at Disney World during this time. Has anyone ever gone to this tournament in the past? Do you know what the price of the tickets are? Thanks!

Our family is going October 14-20, and though I am a golf fan, I am not planning on attending the tournament. I did look into it, though, and you DH should have no problems getting tickets. If he's ever seen it on TV, the crowds are very low at the tournaments. I've also heard (read) that it doesn't noticably affect the park crowds, so that's why I was OK with us going. Weather-wise, when we went 6 years ago (October 13-21,2000), it was the week before the tournament, and the weather was near perfect, high-70s, low-80s and low humidity. Crowd-wise, it was low early in the week and built all week until Thursday at AK and Friday at MK were quite crowded.

Hope that helps.

We stayed at the Poly during the 2004 Funai Classic. The Poly and GF were booked full as I suspect might be the CH. Park crowds were moderate with little or no wait - fastpasses were either covered or quick return on all rides. We could see the courses from the monorail and the spectators were light during the first three days. On the weekend they seemed to pick up.

We were there last year the week of the golf classic. I do not think the crowds were bad at the parks at all. We were able to enjoy and do everything that we wanted too without too much trouble. We did not attend the gold tournament.

The weather for us was HOT and muggy the first part of our trip (although we come from the Great Lakes region where there is snow on the ground in late Oct)..then when Wilma hit it was COLD!

We have been to WDW for the past three years in October. We find the weather beautriful and great walking weather. Especially at night. The longest we have ever waited for a ride was approx. 20 minutes and that was at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon on a Saturday for Winnie the Pooh. The only place that you may find crowded is Epcot due to the Food and Wine Festival.

Try Touringplans.com, Crowd Projections; they've always been on the mark for our trips.
