What has the experience been with the crowd's following New Year's vs the weekend of President's Day. On several crowd calendars they are listed as the highest crowds, but if one were to choose, which time would be better? Seeing the holiday decorations, etc?

Personally, I think you will encounter more out of town guests on New Years and more locals on President's Day.

On one hand, locals are less likely to make dining reservations, purchase Genie +, and wait in long lines. On the flip side, people complain about locals acting like they own the place.

I’m local and not only do I not feel like I own the place, I don’t get that feeling from most other locals. We can always come back, and I will actually give my place in line or offer help for tourists because they won’t be back soon (or maybe never).

Anyway, both of those times will be extremely crowded. As a local, I avoid presidents weekend as it’s always very crowded. If the weather is nice, NYE will be extremely crowded but it sounds like fun (I’ve never done it). Last year it was raining and fireworks were canceled so that’s a bummer. I think that may have happened the year prior too.

The days after NYE are historically crowded but last year they lifted some of the passholder blockouts early that week, So I guess they were expecting lower crowds than usual. Not sure what this year will bring. It’s fun to experience the holidays a few more days after NYE.

I'm local as well. I'm not saying that locals actually act like that, but that I've seen people on this forum complain about it.
