How are the crowds down there right now?

I'll be there on Monday...hope it's nice and quiet :wizard:

We just returned on the 15th and had no problems with crowds. The longest wait we had was 15 minutes and when we went first thing in the morning or stayed for EMH, we walked on everything!

Were you able to attend MK late EMH? I am hoping to hit that while there and that its really empty :-)

I called for PS's next week and it was wide open.

4 days and counting! Hows it looking?? :wizard:

Anyone just back or there right now???

We were there over the weekend, the only park we went to is MK, but I'll comment on that. :)

The crowds were definitely low (compared to what I've seen). The biggest thing that I noticed was the Fastpass tickets weren't 8 zillion hours in front of the current time. **side** When we were ther in November the fastpass tickets were for 6+ hours later! Boo! **end tangent**

So we got to MK around 11am or so and headed straight to Stich. The wait was 35 minutes, but the fast pass was for 11:40 we decided to just get that. We rode Space Mountain (waited 15 minutes) and Carousel of Progress (no wait) and then headed back to Stich. The longest we waited was Thunder Mountain - we were there around 1pm or so and waited about 40 minutes.

Like I said, overall the crowds were definitely lower. When we went to the Boarwalk Resort we could park in the main lot rather than across the street, parking wasn't a problem at La Nouba, DT Disney, etc. :)

Have a super fun time on your trip!!

I have a question 1MegMeg, I was wondering, you said that you guys just went to the MK over the weekend. When you said you arrived at 11 am and had the 40 minute wait on BTMRR at 1pm, was that on the Saturday or today on Sunday?
Thanks for all of your current reports, I am in serious research mode trying to figure out if we want to switch our trip next year to January time or not. And your posts are definitely helping! :Pinkbounc

Oh I forgot! Dpuck1998 (and any others getting ready to go, lucky!), pretty pretty please give a trip report, or a post on how your trip went and how crowds were when you return home. We are looking at those same dates exactly a year from now, and would love to hear how your trip went!! It might mean a big change I will have to make, but if it is worth it, I will do it!

I'm new, but we just got back this afternoon from our first ever, and quick 3 day trip to WDW. We live close to D'Land so Disney is not new to us, otherwise I think we wouldn't have had enough time. It was mostly me & DD, DH was attending a conference and joined us in the evenings.

Crowds are just not there. I had subscribed to TGM since we had such a short time, and I think that the itineraries that I used from that plus EMH plus getting to the parks first thing in the morning made it very easy for us.

Longest lines we waited in was about 15 minutes for Primeval Whirl at AK about 1pm because DD decided she wanted to do it just once more before leaving. We did it twice in a row in the morning without getting off, that's how empty it was. Also waited about 10 minutes for R&R roller coaster in MGM on Friday night.

Longest line we didn't bother waiting in was to see the Princesses in MK. DD is 9 and has seen them all before so I was glad she was over it. That line was about 45 minutes. Every ride was pretty much walk on. There were some lines in MK on Friday when we were on our way out about noon. We basically did the entire park in 4 hours. We were there Thursday night for the parade too and did Space Mountain three times in a row because it was walk on, and that never EVER happens at D'Land.

The line for Test Track yesterday was about 45 minutes by 9:45am, so we used FP for that and didn't wait at all.

I think we had really good luck overall, it was a great time. After having a no crowds experience, I can't imagine going back during a busy time at all.

I'd highly suggest this time of year as far as trips go. This is our second year going in January and I can't get over how relaxing it was to move about without the masses. From little to no lines, to very easy character access, to being able to make PS's or walk up to the restaurant ona whim, it was great. Now granted , the weather can be unrepdictable, and was cooler both this trip and the last when compared to average temps, but it sure beat being up north. We're going again in May and I'm afraid that I've been spoiled as far as crowds go.

Thanks so much for the info. I had posted the same question in another thread. Also, 1MegMeg, thank you for answering a question I had-- I was wondering if the Carousel of Progress was open now (one of my faves).

Michelle- We went to MK on Saturday. :)

Carribeanme - Yeppers, Carousel of Progress is open again! It's on of my favorites too.

I'm back!!

Thanks for all the great info....

We were there Mon-Thur (1/24-1/27)

Crowds were almost non-existant. We have been to Disney almost every month of the year and nothing compares to late Jan. We are early risers and always in the parks at 9am. We went to all 4 parks in 4 days and didn't wait for any rides. The worst line I saw all trip was 30 mins on Peter Pan during night time EMH at MK. We walked on Test Track, Mission Space, Splash Moutain, and pretty much every ride we went on. 5-10 mins was the most we waited. Mid-later afternoon lines were there a litte, but we managed to do the less popular rides or quick loading rides during these time. Sidenote, did EMH on Weds night. We were all alone on Pirates!! no one in our boat and no one behind/infront of us. It was just me and my 5 y/o DS and we had a blast. Everyone was in Fantasyland during EMH and if you avoid that for the most part the rest of the park was EMPTY!!

Anyway, we had a blast and hit all the rides, had great meals at LT, Sci-Fi, Ohana. We were not crazy about Tepanyaki...it was ok, but we enjoy Bennehana much more.

Any question let me know and i'll be happy to fill in any blanks.

Thanks,
dpuck1998
