Hi,

last went down to Crossroads 10 years ago and wondered if anyone could tell me if a list of the shops and restaurants is available anywhere. Seemed to remember there was a TGI Fridays and stuff. Also is the Pirates Cove gold walkable from there?

Thanks

i remember eating at Fridays a few years ago - i am not sure if it was in Crossroads though- according to the following site- it is not. (but i WAS close to there)

http://orlando.retailguide.com/data/m101629.htm

mcdonalds, taco bell, tgi fridays, pizzaria uno, marble slab creamery (home made icecream place), goodings grocery
thats all I can think of

Actually, Maddhatir, Fridays is in Crossroads, toward the back.

To expand on Cinamin's list:

Chevy's (great Mexican chain)
Buffalo Wild Wings
Perkins
Jungle Jim's (also fun)
Pebbles Caribbean Grill (nice, more upscale)
Pirate's Cove Golf (it is technically in Crossroads, but it's all the way in the back)

And I am sure we are still missing a few...

I am pretty sure olive garden and pizza hut is there. Across the street there is a subway.

Technically Olive Garden and Pizza Hut are a block down, on Palm Parkway. (In between, you'll also pass an IHOP, Burger King, Black Angus Steakhouse...I don't know how many restaurants survive along 535 like that.) I forgot about the Red Lobster, but yep, it's there.

Coincidence.....MAYBE...! :rotfl2:

maddhatir - it could be a cold stone, I'm actually not certain which - I always mix those places up, they are both pretty much the same & both YUMMY, I like them even better than Ghiridellis! :cheer2:

ETA: yes, its a marble slab, I checked locations on both coldstone & marble slab & this is what I found on marble slabs website:
Crossroads of Lake Buena Vista
12505 State Road 535, #C-1
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32836
407-827-1900

but there are quite a bit of cold stones in the orlando area too, a few quite close to disney so it will be great "birthday celebrations" for ya while you're there!

Just a couple questions... How do you get to this area if staying at Pop and how far away is it? TIA!! :goodvibes

go to downtown disney, follow hotel plaza blvd (where the downtown disney non disney owned hotels are) to the intersection for 535, cross over 535 & you'll be in the crossroads shopping center!

it might be 10 minutes total driving disntance from POP of course depending on traffic & how many redlights you have to sit at

Thank you so much! We are trying to do a budget trip this time and these restaurants will come in handy!!

There's also a Quizno's and Mitzi's Hallmark. Mitzi's is a great place to shop for Disney collectibles that you can't find in the parks. Her prices are the same and she usually offers free shippping on sales over $100. I have found quite a few "sold out" figurines here.

Since Im not sure when you are comming you might want to check out the establishment in question before you make the trip from WDW.

It is my understanding they are closing Crossroads and knocking it down to build new and nicer stores, restaurants etc.

:confused3 when are they knocking down the Crossroads area? I knew about the Beltz mall.....there's also a Cee Cee's Pizza place, cheap pizza, salad bar buffet ,good tasting pizza.

Thanks for all the great info! :thumbsup2

mickey7861 - thanks for the heads up on Mitzi's Hallmark - I'll definately be stopping off here! :teeth:

cinamin27 - I noticed in your signature that you stayed at Sheraton Safari in 2005 - we will be there this October. Any comments/suggestions about requests to make before our trip? What restaurants are nearby? :confused3

I would appreciate any information you could give me! :teeth:

I think you might be confusing Crossroads with Pointe Orlando. No signs of construction at Crossroads, other than new stores. However, Pointe Orlando is finishing up a major renovation, which knocked down the front of the mall, for the purposes you mentioned. For the record, Pointe Orlando never officially closed (tho several of its tenants did), and the first of the new restaurants (Capital Grill) has already opened.

Maybe, I was wrong, where is the Titanic exhibit?, I think thats the shopping center they were talking about on the radio. :confused3

CiCi's is not in Crossroads shopping center, it's actually about the next block down off of 535, you would need to take a right on to Palm Parkway at the intersection between Olive Garden & Pizza Hut.
