Crossing Rate Seasons

SIL has asked me to help plan a trip to WDW for her family - they are planning to go in late Sept / early Oct. of this year. My question has to do with the situation where your stay crosses more than one rate season. If you check in during value season, do still get that lower rate for your entire stay, even though the season changes during your stay? If so, does this still apply if you have a AAA discount? I checked room only prices for her on the AAA web site, and it shows the rate increasing during their stay - if she were to book the AAA room rate through WDW, would she then be able to get the lower rate for the entire stay?

Don't know about AAA or room only, but for my package, I will be checking in on June 2, staying until June 8. The current package deal with the ticket upgrades is supposed to only be good until June 3. But since I'm checking in June 2, I get the deal for my entire stay.

If you check in during value season, you get that rate for the entire stay.

But you can only book up to 10 days - if you check in on the very last day of value season, you can have up to 9 days of the regular season at the value rate. If your trip was longer, the additional days would be at the regular rate.


I don't have any experience with AAA.

the rate you are charged is the rate you pay for your visit, even if the rates change during your stay. If you have a AAA discount, you keep it for the entire stay. It is like the rate change did not happen. It works to your advantage if you check in during a cheaper season and stay into a more expensive one, but against you if you check in during a more expensive season and stay into a cheaper one. You pay the more expensive rate for the entire stay, unless you make two reservations.
