I live in the Niagara region and am looking to possibly put in one of those DIY inground pools this summer. Can't seem to find any good places in Canada to buy these things from, just the US. Unfortunately they don't ship to Canada. Luckily I have an aunt that lives just across the border, about an hour from me, so I could get them to ship it there, then I'd have to arrange to get it across the border. This is where I'm lost in how to do this. I talked to one pool company and they gave me the following info: 3 pallets weighing in total approximately 2200 lbs. I can give the dimensions here if necessary.
Anyone have any suggestions on companies that I could contact that wouldn't be outrageously expensive? Any ideas on what this might cost me to go this route?
I do have a pickup truck and by the dimensions they gave me, I could probably fit the stuff and bring it across a bit at a time, but is this even feasible or practical? I'd guess it would probably take at least 6-10 trips.
On a side note, has anyone done one of these DIY inground pools? I believe that I'm quite handy, but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. Are they the solution for people that can't afford to spend $30000 having a pool installed?
Any help would be appreciated.
