Crocs vs. knock-offs

Has anyone tried the knock-offs they sell at Payless and Wal-Mart? How do they compare to the real thing?

I have a pair from Payless and I'm not sure if I could wear them all day. SIL has both and says she prefers the Payless version. Both kids love theirs from Payless and I'm wondering if I should plan on buying extra to set aside for our Nov. trip.

Any thoughts???

I think the real crocs are a little softer. My dd has both and likes them equally. She wore both thru WDW with no problems. If your kids like them I'd get extra- though they last well.

My advice would be to stick with the original CROCS. I almost got a knock-off pair at Target, but I am glad I got the originals. I got one pair at Dillards and one pair on sale at my university bookstore.

i had tried on a pair of "real" crocs and the ones at pay less and they felt the same. And at 14.95 you cant beat the price compared to 35 dollars for crocs

I saw some at "The Shoe Dept" the other day called Komodos. Has anyone tried these ones? They we originally 30, marked down to 15.

I bought a pair of Payless (blue) and black for DH three weeks ago. They're very comfy.

I also stopped by Nordstrom's to check out the Crocs. I had tried them previously at the Orlando Premium Outlets in Florida. They seem very big to me and felt harder IMHO. If you want to save money, I'd go with the Payless Airwalks. That's just me. Forget about the Walmart knockoff they're as hard as a rock. Unless you plan to put an insert in them and use them as a gardening shoe

I have a pair of red real crocs that I wore to WDW a couple of weeks ago. My feet did better in them than in tennis shoes. My niece had the fake pair but did well.

I just bought a pink pair and bought my nieces the orange and bright pink.

I have both.

I bought the payless airwalks first. I didn't want to pay $30, and like Vivianne said, the crocs felt so hard when I tried them on. The airwalks are very soft & I thought they felt wonderful. After a full day of shopping, my feet did hurt - though less than with regular shoes.

My mom found some crocs on clearance & bought me a pair. Turns out that the crocs are so much more comfortable than the airwalks.

I still wear the airwalks, but only for short periods of time.

I've tried on the original Crocs but they did not fit me good. The ones at walmart were hard not comfy - so i just went to payless and tried them on a a joke and guess what they fit perfect. Picked up a pair for myself and my two boys!

They did not have a big selection though - one payless had none the other had a navy pair for myself and red for my two sons.........

Hi-here's my thoughts. My mom and I bought the Payless Airwalks last August for our Sept 2005 trip. We went to about 4-5 different stores since it was the end of the season, the shoes were on clearance and the size selection was slim. However, I did get both the "Birkenstock" style and clogs in black. My mom got red Birkies and black clogs. I think they were $7 a pair-and BOGO buy on get one half off. We wish we could have found more color selections. We also drove about 30 miles to the closest retailer (Gottshchalks) to check out the real "Crocs" I didn't like them as well. I felt the bumps on the bottom were a little too noticeable.

Now for the report-I wore the Birkenstock style mostly-For the first time EVER-I did not have sore feet at the end of the day. It was great. I wear my Airwalks all the time now-yes they aren't very pretty-but they sure do feel good. Also I didn't need seperate water shoes at the pool and water parks.

I did buy a dark green pair of the Crocs at a local market about a month ago, and for me, they are less comfortable-the top of my foot rubs on the shoe. I still prefer my Payless ones. I did try on Walmarts in the store, no way-the were awful! Very stiff, etc.

I haven't checked lately butI can't wait to buy a few more pairs of Payless (some new colors would be nice). Maybe they'll be BOGO 1/2 off again.

Did anyone see Faith Hill on Oprah about a month ago-she told Oprah that Crocs were the best ever-said she was sending her a pair!
