OK - I'm seriously considering these things because I get HORRIBLE blisters everytime I'm at Disney and I'm desperate to try something new.

So, How long does it take to break in a new pair of crocs? We leave in 17 days.

i think you'll be fine...i personally never had a pair of crocs before this summer. and i absoutely love buying what i call disney shoes that i buy right before i go. i like them to look as new as possible so i only wore my crocs like 3 times before leaving just to make sure that i wouldn't have any problems with them. and i didn't. i loved them! i sware by them now and i need to get on that site to buy a few pairs for work and another for my trip in december.

good luck!

oh ya and if you are turned off at all about the ugly factor. check the website they have some different styles that aren't so ugly. my personal favorite the athens (which are flip flop style). hope you like them as much as me!

I got Beaches recently and they have been extremely comfortable since the first day that I wore them, they really didn't need to be broken in like other types of shoes.

You don't have to break them in!! I did WDW in January for 9 days in crocs and was fine. I do wear a cotton sock in mine-but my daughter doesn't and she is fine. You can get them at most Dick's Sporting Goods Stores and lots of other places too!!! They are worth the money-you can even put them in the dishwasher if they're dirty!!!
Enjoy!

I was in a store the other day and a rep from the company told me after bout 20 hours of wear they are molded to your feet so maybe you could wear them around the house for a couple of hours a day.

As of the other day Dick's was offering free shipping online and they got here in four days.

You'll be fine
It dosen't take very long to break them in
I have a navy pair (about a year old) and a light blue one (just started wearing them).
You'll be fine!

OK, I'm going off to the mall tonight to see if I can find my size in a color I can live with (light blue? dark blue?) and if not, maybe in a nice BRIGHT color so everyone will see 'em glowing long before I get there! :rotfl:

I wonder if we can request a new icon? One of a smiley dancing in crocs :cool1:

While looking on Dick's Sporting Goods website to see what Crocs they have, I stumbled upon "Cloggens Baja". Have you guys seen these, or know anyone who has a pair.

Below should be the link. If it won't show up here, go to the site and search for the shoes.

Those are cute! I wish they were in women's...ah well, I'll stick to my Crocs.

I've been wearing Crocs since 2004 and absolutely LOVE them! Ugly, yes but very comfy! My mom has weekly chemo treatments which make her feet swell terribly, I sent her a pair and she's in heaven! :cloud9: Minimum break-in period, take a thin sock to wear in case your feet chafe (but probably won't). Just remember how loose they fit, that's the part that takes some getting used to. Enjoy!

I actually bought crocs and payless airwalks.. I wore the crocs around the house for one day and hated them... the little nubby things on them drove me nuts... I liked the airwalks so much better.. the nubs didnt hurt my feet from the first time I wore them till now... I were mine all the time and have never had a problem.. my advice.. skip the crocs.. buy Airwalks.. so much more comfortable..

I absolutely loved my Crocs on my trip in June (heard about them on this board). I wouldn't think of going again without them. I didn't wear them much before hand but wished I would have. I didn't have a big problem - but I had the kind with the strap around the heel - that did rub some on the back of my foot and made it a little sore - but I ended up just flipping the strap up so it didn't go around my heal. I did end up getting a blister on the side of my heal from the shoe rubbing - maybe they were actually too big for me. It ended up not being a big problem as I just put moleskin on the blister and didn't seem to have any problems continuing to wear the shoes. A couple days I did wear socks with the Crocs - and even though I am sure they looked really ugly - they were even more comfortable. I am much more into comfort than fashion - especially when on vacation, walking miles in 90 degree heat!!

The nubs on the Cayman style are smaller than the nubs on the Beach style. Do you know which you tried? I found the Cayman's more comfortable because of this. They are supposed to be a little slimmer too but I don't really see it.

I wore my Crocs around the house and then took a walk or two around the block -- didn't need any breaking in, but I broke them in anyway. :)

Don't be afraid to try a few different brands (Crocs, airwalks, etc.), take them home and walk around inside your house to see what you like best.

I think my Crocs were the best pre-vacation buy I have ever made. They made walking around much easier and the whole trip was much more enjoyable.
