So the kids are growing up. They are 10, 6 and almost5 and will be walking most of the time this trip. Only a stroller if needed. For those who have walking kiddos do crocs seem to hold up to the bar on comfort? Particularly the origional style and the "shirley" sandal?

Our girls get really hot in sneakers and socks. What are our options for sandals, comfort wise????

TIA!!!!

Our last visit our kids were 3 & 1 1/2. They both word the classic crocs and no one complained of foot pain! They walked most of the time and we were at parks open to close. We are going next month and they will be 5, 3 and 14 months and I will be putting everyone in crocs again! For my husband and myself we will most likely be wearing the croc flip flops...we also wore regular crocs last trip and were so comfy!!

My kids always wear their crocs when we go in the summer. They hate having socks on when it is hot out!

This was my not-quite-2yo's feet after one day in the Magic Kingdom (and a lot of time in the stroller too)

We generally stick to flip flops. They're comfortable to us.

I find crocs to be slippery if the ground is wet. My DD4 wears Keens. Closed toed for protection (but no socks needed), plenty of support, and they double as water shoes. They are they only shoes she wears in the summer

*personally*, I do not understand the appeal of crocs, but my kids love them. they hold up well all day, either with or without socks. :)

and hooray for almost being done with strollers! totally different experience!

Mine wore crocs two years in a row. The first year was great, but the second year, they got blisters so bad we had to buy socks at Epcot. They now wear Keenes.

Mine both needed socks when they wore theirs in August. DD got a blister with hers at HS. They didn't complain about their feet feeling hot at all.

Thanks for the website!!

My kids wear crocs all summer also. They have worn them through Disney both times. DS1broke on in MK but I think that could happen any where. I don't recall any blisters.

My son has lived in them since he started wearing shoes (yes even in winter I couldnt get socks on that kid)...This year when he started kindergarten he needed sneakers for gym and he actually pertty much picks sneakers everyday but at home and on weekends its crocs. I think it really depends on your kid. I personally cant wear crocs for long and my feet hurt (I know usually people say they dont hurt with crocs, guess I am weird lol)...but if your child doesnt normally wear crocs I would have them break them in first and wear them like all weekend of running around and playing and see how they like them.

My older daughter wears original crocs in the park and has been fine. She tends to alternate wearing socks and not but they haven't given her blisters

My oldest wears keen sandals with the closed toes all summer. So thats when he brings to disney. He has crocs to slip on for the pool but he is in painafter too long in crocs. My younger son would happily wear crocs 24/7 but has foot issues and needs an orthotic. So he too wears the same type of keens. School and camps require the closed toe sandal so it just makes sense for us to go that route.

My kids both like to wear Crocs at WDW, but if you need a little extra smidgen to get to 44" or 48", sneakers are the way to go. At some points, we've made them quit wearing Crocs for a day or two as they get sloppy in how they walk and wind up tripping. And definitely they are slippery when it's wet and may not be the best choice.

This is something I've been wondering - my DS recently turned 1 and is toddling in those soft canvas shoes. They obviously won't work for WDW, besides I'm sure he will have outgrown them! So as a first time parent bringing my child on holiday I honestly have no clue what to put on his feet! Sneakers? Crocs? Sandals? What would be best for a toddler of almost 15 months? I've searched online and can't get an answer, and as DS likes to walk more often than not I want him to be comfy and not get sore feet! TIA :goodvibes

The best is for them to be barefoot when they are young...but obviously that doesn't work at Disney! My boys have crocs, but they are seldom worn. I prefer to have them in quality sneakers with good foot support. My older son also needs to wear inserts for arch support. My plan is to wear sneakers to the park.

My dd has been a crocs-all-summer kid for the past 2 years and she hasnt' complained of them hurting once. I wear them too and so does dh. He wears his with socks at the parks, dd and I go sockless. They can get slippery if they get wet, but at that point I just put the strap backward so it is "in use" (I normally leave the strap forward making the shoe a slip on).

Lots of people wear keens too and I have seen a decent amount wearing Toms in the parks. You could look at teva sandals. I think Crocs are overall the most popular, but there are other options. Maybe bring them to Dick's or another sporting store and have them try on a variety, let them walk or run (if it's not crowded) to see how they fit. I was recommended to try Sanuk flip flops 2 years ago, ended up with blisters on the bottom of my feet after day 1 of our vacation! But if I wear them now, they are comfy. The soles are made out of yoga mat material, so they are quite squishy and soft. Not sure if Dick's sells those, but I bought mine at an EMS store.

I would take him to a good quality shoe store (Stride Rite or other) and have them fit him for a good pair of sandals.

My dds wore Crocs for a year, but now they prefer: older dd - Keens, younger dd - Chacco.
