Crockett's Tavern????

I need some experienced DIS'ers help! I'm online testing out ADRs times at different places to see how to schedule my upcoming trip in October.....but I came across Crockett's Tavern on wdwinfo.com's DP list of Restaurants. It's listed under Fort Wilderness under the TS column (suggesting it is available for ADRs?) along with Trail's End Restaurant but does NOT have a link bringing me to a description. Trail's End DOES have a link. I've done some quick searches on DIS, but nothing much came up. Of course this piqued my interest, and here are my questions:

1. Is there a place for dining at Crockett's Tavern, and if so, is it available for ADRs?
2. Or, if it's just a "tavern", about how big is it?
3. I've read that there are rockers outside where people have gone to sit, are there a lot? is there a wait? ( I hope not, DH and I would LOVE to do this even if there is no dining )
4. Does anyone have PICTURES????? (this will give me the best idea!)

Years ago Crockett's was a real Tavern. They had bar food - pizza, nachos, etc. No reservations required. From what I could tell the last time we were at Fort Wilderness, it is now just a takeout window for drinks. I think you might still be able to get pizza and chicken to go from Trail's End. But all the seating inside now belongs to Trail's End from what I could see except maybe some seats at the bar.

There is a porch with rocking chairs and some kids toys around the building. It is a nice place to sit and watch people go by if you manage to snag a chair. Grab a beer at the window and just sit and chill! I you have younger kids, there is a nice playground very close - you can see it from the porch.

My wife and I have a tradition of going here for a drink or two every trip before we head to Hoop Dee Do (another annual tradition).

Its just a bar, in fact probably the smallest bar on property with about only 10 seats. I cant recall anyone with food there in all our previous trips. There is a tv if people are looking to catch a sporting event.

Did a quick google search and found this...it 100% sums how I feel about the place:

Crockett’s Tavern isn’t really a tavern. Disney put a sign up to call it “Crockett’s Tavern”, but it is really only a small bar inside the Trail’s End restaurant. But despite the lack of a true tavern feel, Crockett’s at the Fort Wilderness campground is a great place to eat and relax.

The food speaks for itself at Trail’s End. It is simply the best value on property, but Crockett’s Tavern is a worthwhile place to drink even without eating. It’s a strange phenomenon actually. It has little in the way of an authentic frontier saloon, like one would expect in this location. The bar is small with only maybe 10 stools total. Really, when one sees the sign out front, they expect more than one Crockett’s delivers aesthetically. But there is just something about the place that makes you want to come back.

Crockett’s Tavern is quiet. Even when the buffet is full of tourists and cranky children, the bar is just far enough away to maintain a nice ambience. The service has always been great and very personal, and that helps to create a good feeling about being there.

If you don’t have children, and want to come to Trail’s End, you may want to consider eating at the bar. It may not be worth going out of your way, and I certainly can’t come up with many reasons to take the long trek over to the campground to enjoy Crockett’s Tavern. But what I can tell you is that for one reason or another, some of my best times at Disney World have been at this bar. It’s a warm and inviting place, if not a “magical” or immersive Disney experience. Sometimes you just need a good bar and a little break from magic.

1) As mentioend by PatsMom and 10 Kyle 10, it used to be a nice tavern.
2) We really enjoyed it - just a cool bar.

. . . rustic
. . . friendly
. . . throw peanut shells on the floor
. . . relaxing
3) Then, they shrunk it to make more tabled for the eatery (due to DDP)
4) Now, it is more of a convenience location.
5) A shame.

We got the two mixed up a bit on our recent visit too. Trail's End has a buffet for all 3 meals. We got there @4:30 for the start of dinner and although lots of folks were using the aforementioned rocking chairs, we literally walked right in (had no ADRs).

The food is varied and plentiful - chicken, ribs, roast beef, salmon, peel and eat shrimp, pizza, corn bread, full salad and dessert bars plus soft soft ice cream. It is a homey place with attentive service and it became quite crowded. Price was around $25.00 each. It is right next door to HDDR. We really enjoyed it.
