Critter Country is being changed to Bayou Country thoughts?

I for one am happy with this, I think it will be the best of both worlds. The Country Bear theme coming to the restaurant is to reach those who love the land how it was, while hoping the new theming to the other parts of the land kinda expands the New Orleans themes and adding more life to the land like fireflies at night time.

But also wanted to hear from others, are you excited for these changes or will miss Critter Country?

I will miss Critter Country. I loved the music of Splash Mountain and it's still sad to be without it! The music popped up the other day on one of my old DL soundtracks - it fit DL perfectly! I'm sure the new ride will be great too and it's good to move forward with something more contemporary. Splash desperately needed an overhaul with the state of the animatronics. So much was constantly broken. Those things were old! They were in America Sings back in the 80's!

Bayou Country seems a bit odd with Winnie the Pooh, but I'm just happy they're keeping Pooh. I actually love that ride!

I like it. I'd much rather have the whole area follow the theme than Tiana's sticking out in the middle of critter country. Now when you look at this area combined with New Orleans Square, you get the entire southern half of Louisiana in one park!

I mean, Tiana is a frog for the majority of the movie, so Critter Country works as well. Either name works in my opinion. I personally don't get back to that part of the park (when splash was present) to peruse. My motivation was to get to Galaxy's Edge. I really stopped going to Hungry bear (I used to love their fried green tomato sandwich) and I'm not a huge fan of the Winnie the pooh ride.

I'm happy with all the changes back there, which is going to cause me to spend more time there, besides my main goal always being a path to Galaxy's Edge.

I don't think the name change was necessary, but I'm not opposed to it.

I would have rather it stayed Critter Country. But only because I feel like so much of the park is being taken over by movies. I like keeping some things as they are and not franchising the pants off everything.

I'm a nostalgic person in general and I don't like major changes around the park. Whenever I talk about how Disneyland used to be my kids tease me and put on a 125 year old lady voice saying, "Back in my day..."

That said,Tiana is my daughter's favorite princess and Princess and the frog is her favorite movie, so she'll be thrilled :)

I prefer the new name! Not that I had any issues with Critter Country, I just think Bayou Country is a better fit now.

It will always be Critter Country to me, I can't see that changing. I still call Hollywood Studios MGM at WDW

I don't mind the name, I just prefer Critter Country. I'm not a huge fan of Tiana and all that business so there's that.
I do love Pooh, but wish they would update it like the Tokyo Version, OMG now THAT Pooh ride is amazing!

Disney seems to change the name of this area depending on the attractions - back in the days of the Country Bear Jamboree, it was called Bear Country so it makes sense that it is now being re-named Bayou Country.
Thanks for that reminder. Things change and it's not necessarily a new thing for DL. I'll admit that I was a bit annoyed at first since Critter Country seems to fit perfectly well with Tiana's ride (since she's a frog for so much of the film), but I am also resistant to change so it's likely my hang up. Critter Country just rolls off the tongue better too. As others have said, as long as they keep Winnie the Pooh, I'm good!

Not really something to celebrate…I’ve been to Louisiana…hot, muggy, loaded with bugs and creepy crawlies. Hope Disneyland doesn’t follow suit! And apologies in advance to all you southerners so no need to flame me…just making an observation.
Not thrilled with the whole Tiana redo but that’s because I’m just old and set in my ways :rotfl2:

they probably should have made it into the Avatar ride instead.

I just don’t understand why the powers that be think everything has to be tied to an IP.
Pirates was Pirates while JD was still in diapers.

But time marches on…I predict this, too, shall pass.
