Third time to Disney in 1.5 years. First time was off-site and our only reservation was Crystal Palace. Not too bad, but nothing I would have to go back for. Second time was just my son and I and we shared CS meals for the most part, but we did go to a H&V breakfast, mostly for the characters. I wouldn't do that one again.

This trip we are doing a Disney package. I'm hoping for free dining, but I may pay for it OOP anyway. Regardless, Tuesday is my 180+10, and I plan on making reservations then. We do not have park hoppers.

10-2 (arrival early)- Fantasmic (dinner package at MM?)
10-3 MK (Kona dinner)
10-4 Epcot (Garden Grill, mainly for Chip and Dale)
10-5 not sure what park (but thinking Ohana for dinner)
10-6 AK/MK (I'm hoping this will be the night of the Halloween party. We are not huge AK fans, but it would be nice to go to the safari, eat at Boma, then head to the party. Need to check if there is a Boma lunch option?)
10-7 DHS (using CS credit or OOP CS)
10-8 MK Ohana breakfast
10-9 Epcot (Le Cellier lunch... we leave late night)

The group will consist of myself, my husband, sd (17) and ds (5). Everyone is picky to a degree, but I really would like to get them out of comfort zone a little and try something a little different. I'm the only seafood fan.

I've done a lot of reading on suggestions, which is why I have OhanaX2 (breakfast and dinner). Would you dine at the same place twice in a week, or do something different?

I'm not sure if a Fantasmic DP will be available on Oct. 2nd. I would have a back up plan if this is a must.

'Ohana dinner might be too close to your arrival day. It's a hard one to get and you have a better chance if it's later in your trip.

Your restaurant choices look good to me.

Your choices look good, just one thing Boma doesn't offer lunch. You might be able to fit an early dinner in there before the party but that's about the best you can do there. As for Ohana twice if your son would want the characters do Ohana breakfast otherwise try Kona for breakfast.

Thanks for the responses so far. I would like to see Fantasmic (never have before), not sure if I want to do a dinner package or not. We should be on property by noon, after a very early flight. Might be a very tiring day. I wish I could look ahead and see if we will be able to get into our room early. The only reason we would do MM is for Fantasmic dinner package, as none of us are huge Italian fans. Think I will do a back-up there. Now, what to add? lol

Good knowing that about Ohana. We did choose that one for characters. I'm really trying to get some character meals in with good food (basically the opposite of our experience at H&V). Maybe I can switch the planned breakfast and dinner.

And Boma... would like to try this one for the atmosphere, but what would be the latest dinner reservation that wouldn't cut to much into the party? If it dinner starts at 5pm, I can't see eating much later than that.

Looks like maybe I should have a back-up for each day to be safe. I don't want to have to think about it at 6am Tuesday. Anyone that's any good at this have any suggestions?

I think if you switch the 'Ohana around and do breakfast on the day you planned to do dinner, you will have a better selection of times for the dinner (unless you like to eat late).

Mama Melrose is the better of the 1TS credit restaurants that offers the Fantasmic DP. One year I had steak and last year I had the chicken parmesan. Both were yummy. The Fantsmic DP saves a lot of time waiting in line to see Fantasmic. For a back up, either book H&V (this would be the only reason I would eat here again), pick another date for the Fantasmic DP or plan to wait in line for over an hour to get a seat. I hope that Oct. 2 is available for you but I know that Sept. 29th was gone fast. There were still some available earlier this morning but you can't book for a few days.

For the MNSSHP, you can enter MK at 4pm with your party ticket. I would do the earliest dinner possible or maybe try Tusker House for breakfast (characters). They offer some African food, but not as much as Boma. I really like Tusker House-I have it booked twice for my trip.

I'm sure I can find the answer to this somewhere, but I'm not sure what to search for exactly... for Fantasmic dinner reservations, those have to be called in and reserved correct? If so, when can you make those reservations... do they fall into the 180+10 or just 180 days out. I'm now thinking maybe doing Fantasmic on arrival day might be too much and do it 10-6.

You can do them online and they can be in the 180 +10. You pick dining event instead of restaurant (little circle you click on). You have to enter the date in like this 10/02/2011, you can't click on dates as they don't show up on the calendar that far. Don't forget you need your CC handy for a hold.

On your booking day, I would start with Fantasmic first. I just checked if you want MM there is only 1:35pm left on the 2nd (nothing else is available). You have a much better chance of getting something on the 6th.

Your next ADR should be 'Ohana dinner or Garden Grill (both will be the next hardest).

Oh no.. the only thing left at MM on Oct 2nd is at 1:35?
Tomorrow is my 180 day mark and I was hoping to go there that day.. UGGH!

That doesnt give me much hope for Ohanas on 9/30/11

I was leaving the seating for a party of 2, so there may be larger tables available.

Right now at 'Ohana there is nothing for a party of 2 on the 30th.

Thanks Squirrel, you just renewed my hope. :thumbsup2

I have a group of 10.. I guess I'll just have to see what luck I have tomorrow at 6:00am

Thanks for your wonderful suggestions. This part is new to me. I'm working on a back-up plan and I'm thinking we'll do Fantasmic on 10-6 and hoping the Halloween Party is available on 10-7. Never gave much thought about what order to do restaurants in.

We will be a party of 4 though... will that make it a little easier?

There should be a party on the 7th. It appears to look that way looking at the Travel Agents calendar. If it works out for Fantasmic on the 2nd, keep the party on the 6th as it's a Thursday and should be less crowded than a Friday.

I can check on a party of 4 and see if that makes any difference.

I just checked and it looks much better for a party of 4-1:45pm, 2:10pm and 3:55pm at MM on Oct.2 For the 6th there is 1:45pm, 2:10pm, 3:45pm, 4:00pm and 4:50pm.

I just checked-nothing for a table of 10. However if you are willing to break up into a table of 4 and 6 they have 3:35pm (6) and 3:55pm (4). They may be able to seat everyone together when you check in for the ADR.

For 'Ohana I found two tables again (I did check for a table of 10) and both can be seated at 7pm. It's also a 4 and 6 table split. You might be able to get a table together here also if you ask when you check in.

It sounds like you are going with other people. When booking two tables-I would book one with your reservation # and book the other with another persons reservation#. There have been reports of CM's cancelling double bookings (yours isn't but they may think it is). Are the other family or friends staying at the same resort? If so make sure the reservations are linked so you get rooms near eachother. Do you have another computer that someone else can book the other tables from (better chance of getting both the tables before someone else gets one)?

MomRN, I checked again just now so you can get a better idea of what is available.

For a table of 4 at MM on the 2nd - 1:40pm
For a table of 4 at MM on the 6th - 1:30pm, 1:45pm 3:50pm

I don't know if they hold a few tables for release each day or not. I guess you will be able to find out tomorrow morning if more times become available.

Good morning (and an early morning it was). My 4 yr old was coughing all night, slept in my bed, and there was no sneaking up at 6am to make reservations and sneak off back to bed for an hour more of sleep. Oh well, got things to do today anyway.

I got all of what I wanted!

Here's what it looks like:

10-2 DHS and Fantasmic (arriving at MCO around 10am) MM dinner package @ 2:50pm
10-3 MK (double booked dinner for right now, not sure if I want Kona or Liberty Tree, either way 5:05pm or 5:15 pm)
10-4 Epcot Garden Grill @ 6:55 (a little late for us to eat, but not horrible)
10-5 MK O'hana at 5:15pm
10-6 AK/MK (for hopefully the Halloween party) Boma @4:45
10-7 DHS - counter service day
10-8 MK O'hana breakfast 8:45am (not sure I like this time, we are not early risers, but would like to get to the park at a somewhat earlier time)
10-9 Epcot Le Cellier @ 12:45 (check out day, but our flight doesn't leave until 9pm)

I'm glad you got what you wanted!

It appears they do add a few more dining times to the Fantasmic DP each day, until they are full.

I will be at Kona on the 3rd at 6:10pm. I hope the chef I have known since 2008 is working that night. I met her at Pop when I took my niece who is lactose intollerant.

Le Cellier is 2 TS now I believe. Boma doesnt have lunch since I also checked that option. We will be doing Whispering Canyon for lunch instead. As for seafood recommendation with 1 TS, how about Coral Reef at Epcot or Cape May Cafe at Beach Club/Yacht Club? We went with Cape May Cafe for the crab legs and they do have lunch. For seafood with 2 TS then Narcoosee's or California Grill are what I think are best. We will be tryinh O'hana on 7/4 at 9:45PM. I am hoping that there is a 9:50PM fireworks that we can watch from O'hana.

Since Boma does not have a lunch...I recommend Tusker House Donald Safari breakfast as a brunch (make sure you get last breakfast seating)....you can also then skip ohana breakfast and just do it for dinner.

Le Cellier is only 2TS credit for dinner.

As far as I know fireworks are never at a strange time as 9:50pm. They are usually at 9pm. They may on ocassion be 10pm or 9:30pm(HalloWishes).
