Cristina's Real Life Fairytale - 1/5/2014 <3

Love the save the dates! Those photos are lovely (and hilarious!). That's a cute poem for the pre-rsvp too.

We made our site on weddingwire too (after trying so, so many other wedding website creators). It has the best "templates" out there.

For the table of contents, if you click the #NUMBER on the upper right corner of any post, it will open up a new window with the post's direct link. Then you can just copy that into your ToC to create a link to jump to your desired post. Hope that helps! Let me know if I can advise more, I'd be happy to help!

Marie we had a lot of fun taking those pics... I think all the people on the cruise thought we were completely nuts! :p

I have to say I struggled over that poem... I must've re-written it several times and I'm still not totally completely content with it BUT it served its purpose.

I'll try the number thing. I'm assuming that I can create a ToC page some where in the PJ to put it as the first thing people see? Being totally honest, I haven't tried it at all yet. I will though, probably tomorrow some time. Thanks for the tips!

I love how you two met and the application he had to fill out. Even though I just started reading I'm so happy you two have each other and that its going so great.

Dear Disney brides and followers,

It has recently come to my attention that there is a detail about myself that I have yet to share with you. It's not something the world of dis knows about me yet and I'm afraid that it may alter the way in which you respond to my posts.

Ladies...

I...

am not...

a...

girly girl... *GASP!* :scared1:

I'm serious! I don't like pink, I didn't play with barbies, my preferred daily outerwear is t-shirts and jeans, I have not been planning my wedding since I was 7 and when people ask me what kind of flowers I'm going to use...I say blue. BLUE!!! I have friends that will throw out flower names to me and it's as if I'm hearing test results from an over eager young intern doctor who wants to show off all those new snazzy words he/she learned in school!

Feel free to respond using very small words... preferably baby talk... especially when trying to educate me on what the difference is between a hydrangea and tulip. (Please note, I spelt both of those wrong when I first typed this out).

I've been trying to do research on floral and decor and all those things to pretty up our ceremony and reception and I just get lost in details. I know what pinterest and etsy are... I've tried using them but truthfully, all of it is SO overwhelming and finding prices on anything is absurdly difficult ESPECIALLY given we're probably going to use Disney floral and decor.

Any and all help in this area would be greatly appreciated...

Here's what I envision:

I love a nice dark navy blue. That mixed with either gold, yellow or like a rust orange will make me very happy. I like the idea of gold the most but not sure how that would work with bridesmaids bouquets.

We were thinking of having themed tables based off of pixar films. The good news is I saw some pictures from the Impressions FB page that had something similar to what we want but their theme was princesses. We don't want it to look tacky... I'm thinking classy with a hint of that particular movie. The pictures were awesome... but how much would they cost?

It's all very overwhelming and though we're 9 months out I feel like maybe I should have a lot more done or at least have a better foundation than what I do right now.

Last confession:

I want so badly to be a DIY bride but it intimidates the you know what out of me!

Any one else in this boat?

Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday night!

Hi! When I first started to read your post I was alarmed, I thought you were going to say you had an illness! Then I continued to read and burst out laughing! Out loud kind of laughing! You've no idea how many brides are in your position! I am the mother of the bride and I see my daughter's frustration all the time. I believe most of us learn what we do from one another, both here and on the DisBrides page of Facebook. I think your color choices are going to be stunning and quite rich. I love Navy or Midnight Navy with gold! I would put the girls in gold and maybe carry deep blue hydrangeas with possibly a little ivory mixed in and some gold ribbon. Believe me, whatever you decide your day will be amazing! You're marrying a person you love and who loves you, your family will be there and friends. And you'll be surrounded by the magic of Disney! I PROMISE you it will be perfect! Please do post pictures as you make your selections so we can all share in your joy.

Navy and Gold sounds beautiful! Here is some color inspiration:

Navy and orange sounds really pretty too:

As far as a bouquet with strictly blue flowers, I'm not sure I can picture it. Most of the blue flowers I have seen are in softer shades of blue, not a dark navy like you prefer. I kind of like the navy-and-gold vibe with the vibrant yellow flowers and lots of navy ribbon wrapped around it like one of the photos in the first collage. The gold flowers, navy ribbon, and white dress sound like a nice combination. And the bridesmaids dressed in navy with the yellow flowers looks very striking and pretty. As far as budget, maybe you can show the florist photos of looks and colors you like and maybe they can tell you which flowers have a similar look and are in your budget?

I love your idea of the pixar themed tables. Do you mean something like this but with pixar films?

So exciting to see another bride that wants BLUE flowers because I do too!!! Can't wait to see what you decide on.

Thanks to andeesings for posting the links to blue bouquets! :flower1::flower1:

Nicole! Totally worked! Thank you!!! :thumbsup2
Yay! Glad I could help!

Blue flowers... hmm. When I started looking at flowers I had no idea what I was looking at in all those bouquet photos. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think if you send your florist some paint chips of the shades of blue you are looking for and a couple of bouquet that have a similar feel they would be able to come up with a vision for your bouquet without ever needing to spell the word hydrangea again! And you could even just ask your florist what can you do for X amount of money. :goodvibes

That being said I found a couple of things that may be of assistance too!

I love the idea of navy/gold and navy/yellow, I think those colours are really sharp when paired together. And I love the Pixar idea! Are you thinking you just want your tables named after Pixar movies/characters/couples or is the whole table and centerpiece going to be themed after the movie? Either way it's a really fun idea!

I love you're ideas for navy and gold! That sounds beautiful!

Just to put your mind at ease, people refer to me as girly, but I don't know the flowers either. LOL There are SO many! I had to research a lot and then go find pictures so I would know what everything looks like. I think the hardest part is trying to picture everything together in a bouquet. Floral has definitely been my weak point.

OH! And DIY?! Forget about it! I've been trying to do stuff, and, yeah...no. I'm not good with that! LOL

Anyway, your wedding will be absolutely beautiful! Don't worry about that. You will be a beautiful bride and everything will be perfect. :)

You should check out the website The Perfect Palette! Maybe you can get some inspiration from them, just type in the colors you are looking for. Good luck :)

You girls are amazing!!!!!! :goodvibes

I'm gonna respond to each post individually but I won't be able to do so until tomorrow BUT I had to just send a quicky reply to say OMG Thank you so much!!!!! :yay:

Have a Happy Tuesday!

Maria... thanks so much! Glad I gave you a good laugh... don't forget to tip your servers!

I'll definitely be posting pics during the process. Wrapping my head around it all can definitely be overwhelming though. Oh and the DISbrides FB page has been amazing!!!

On that second link I was looking at those blue dendrobium orchids, they're amazing! I also like it when those are paired with white flowers, especially those big ones with the black centers.

Roses come in every shade now too!

Andeessings... I'm with you about those blue orchids. They're very pretty!!! They're going in my inspiration folder for sure! Thank you! :goodvibes

Mel! You're hired! :-) Those inspiration photos are awesome! Definitely going in the folder. I also love the tables you sent. What I found that I liked because of its simplicity are below. I think I'd like a little more umph but they're on the right track! :thumbsup2

This one is my favorite mostly because there's more on the table.

Something like these would make me happy. I found them on the Impressions where your Themes come true Facebook page.

Issy I totally didn't think blue would be what I go for... purple is actually my favorite color but idk... something about blue is screaming at me for the wedding. You'll have to post some of your own pics! Do you have a PJ?

Marie... the links you put up are great! Thank you so much!!! I put some pictures up for pixar ideas. I think we want to do it after particular movies. Like it would be really cute to have a mini-Up house with the balloons!

Charlie, totally agree! It's hard to picture everything together! I'm hoping that my DIY skills are better than I think they are! I bow down to those who are talented like that! :worship:

PS- Pretty sure I spied you on the disbrides fb page :)
