Please tell me your reviews of the product if you have used it and/or own it! I just watched the video on the website and love it. I'm okay with the price of the machine. Then, I saw the prices of the cartridges . . . pretty steep! I'd love to hear your thoughts so I can try to determine if it would be worth the cost!

I would love to also hear what people think. It is the cost of the cartridges that keep me from buying it. I can pretty well justify buying anything for scrapbooking but the thought of spending the money on themachine and then having to spend$70-80 per cartridge, I dont know.:hourglass

Walmart sells the cricut for $165 and also sells the carts for $55. You can also find the carts here http://www.craftsetc.com/Store/ShowCategory.aspx?d=51&c=65&s=10 for $60. A lot of places sell them for between 50 and 60 dollars. Hallmark scrapbook currently falls into that category.

I don't have the cricut yet but I do have 4 cartridges! I am hoping that walmart has one in stock this weekend for me to pick up! I have heard nothing but good things about it and I can't wait to get it!

I couldn't justify the price (or the size! Have to keep everything confined under a corner of the dining table so DH doesn't realise how much there is :guilty: ) so I got the Xyron PCS. Not so many sets of alphabets and shapes yet, but you can get lots more there than we can in the UK (I've just ordered the Karen Forster seasons set from cut@home) and you can cut everything in three sizes. It does the job and the price was right. Its also very compact.

I have one and I love it! DH bought me mine at Walmart, so it was $169. I got a cart on sale at A.C. Moore for $50 (which is a steal really), so now I have two carts for it, since it comes with one.

That little machine is fabulous! I can type in anything I want and it cuts it out! If any of you want a title cut or something, instead of actually buying the machine yourself, please feel free to contact me!!! We can work out a trade or payment. I sell titles and hand made embellishments (mainly Disney ones of course) on my ebay account, so if you're interested, PM me and I'll give you my ebay name.

And also, there are Disney cartridges coming out soon that I'm going to get for my Cricut so there are even more possibilities!

I just bought one yesterday at Wal Mart ($169) and an extra cartridge ($55). :yay:

I didn't know what the mats were like, though. I didn't realize that they would be tacky. My question for experienced Cricutters is: Do you have problems when removing the cutouts? I've only done a few, and they curl up slightly on me. Any ideas on how to prevent this? I'd rather not spend any more $ to get their special tools, but is that the secret? Do I need them? Thanks for your help and advice.

I don't own the tools, so I don't know if you necessraily NEED them. I will suggest that you peel the paper off as soon as you're down cutting. I left some on there overnight and boy did it curl up when I peeled it off. The stickiness will wear off in the near future and you won't have to worry about it. But if you want to take some of it away, just pat the mat with your hand a little. I personally like when my mats lose PART of their sticky. I use blue painters' tape to tack the paper down and feed it into my machine, then the letters and leftover paper are easier to peel off. When your mats have nearly lost all of their stickiness, I will suggest cleaning your mats with a baby wipe to make them retain some stickiness, so your letters won't rip. Plus, those mats attract all kinds of lint and stuff so it's good to keep them clean. Hope that helps!

I have a cricut and totally love it. I have a little over $700 invested in my cricut (6 extra cartrages, the tote, mats, etc..) If I had it to do over agian I think I would have gone with the wishblade for about $350, it even cuts chipboard ( cricut does not cut chipboard :( )

I love my Cricut! I haven't had a problem with paper curling, I generally use heavier card stock rather than thiner paper though I do find I go thru cutting pads quickly. Right now I have three cartridges, George which comes with the Cricut, Tags, Bags, Boxes, and Christmas Cheer with the two Disney cartridges on the way.

I bought my wife a cricut for Xmas (at Walmart....can't beat the price). She's now got 6 cartridges or so and LOVES the machine. Her only complaint was the adhesive on the backing paper...which we quickly found a "fix" for (elmers spray on craft bond will keep it sticky...spray and wait a bit before using).

Now we're waiting on the release of the 2 new Disney cartridges....which was SUPPOSED to be this month. So far, haven't seen them anywhere...online or otherwise.

Anyone else seen them, yet?

I've got a cricut.. Bought mine at Walmart.. I love it!! Not only is it a blessing for scrapbooking; but it's been a great life saver for the kids' school projects too.. NO more stencil-ing letters onto poster board or tri-fold boards.. Now, we just decide what size, color, title, type it in, and hit CUT! DS just turned in a project this week and the teacher wanted to know where he got those letters.. I have an email w/ a request for a title for her bulletin board! LOL

I love being able to layer and shadow my words too.

I have only 2 cartridges so far..but I have an advantage.. my mom.. who has no kids at home now and spends like she has no worries.. so I can always borrow her cartridges. :) She is buying one Disney cart and I am buying the other.. It will work out well.. Both DH and my father agree its saving both of them time and money! LOL

I agree with disneyfreakk. I have a cricut with 6 cartridges and I just bought the Disney cartridges. I have been looking at the Wishblade and thinking, just thinking, about selling my cricut and cartridges. Just cost so much for new cartridges and you are limited by what they put out. As I understand the Wishblade, you can die cut any design or font from your computer. Oh well, just thinking ... I do love my cricut though

My wife went back and forth between the cricut and the wishblade. What ultimately made her mind up was portability. With the wishblade, you HAVE to have a PC on hand for it to work. She preferred the cricut since she often goes to girlfriends houses to scrap, and it's something they could all use without having to either lug along a laptop or break out the "hosts" PC.

We'll probably end up getting a wishblade or craftrobo next.....

Sometimes I think I work to feed her scrapping addiction and our mutual disney addiction. :)

I love my Cricut. I will not confess to how many carts I own. :rotfl:

My DH had ordered the Wishblade from HSN, but I made him cancel it. While it is true you are limited to what is on your cartridge, and that Wishblade can weld letters & you can cut any wmf, I just did not want to be tied to my computer any more than I am. I know me. I will take hours to find just the right ttf font. For others who are more disciplined than I, I would think it would be a fantastic machine to own. But I will stay with my Cricut.

You just bought the Disney cartrides like you have them or you preordered? Either way, where did you get them?

So I'm not hijacking--I love my cricut! I got it for Mother's Day last year and I use it all the time. I never was into making cards and now I make all my cards because it's just so easy. What I like best about it is it's portability. I never scrapbook at home and this packs up great and goes to all my crops with me. This weekend I did 15 pages at a 8 hour crop and if I didn't have it, I know I never would have done that many!

I have George plus 6 cartridges. I've never paid anywhere near close to full price for any of them. Walmart carries the older cartridges and AC Moore runs their cartridges for $47 every now and again. It just one of those things that I just know I can't just go out and buy them on the spur of the moment, but I always keep one on my wish list in case they go on sale! On my list now is Fabulous Finds and the two Disney ones!!

I need to correct myself - I pre-ordered the Disney cartridges and have not received them yet. I ordered from scrapbook101.com where they are $69.99 each with no shipping charge.

I don't want to make it sound like I am anti-cricut :goodvibes I do love my cricut  I just want ALL the cartridges and it's too expensive! :lmao: Unfortunately, I am the only one I know who scrapbooks around me so being tied to the PC is fine since it's right next to my craft room. Plus, I'm on the Disboards all the time talking Disney so I'm very close to my computer.

I'm looking forward to the Disney cartridges so much that that will probably cement me in my decision to keep the cricut. The crops I've gone to usually have a cricut there and I just bring my cartridges to use so portability isn't an issue for me (right now atleast). Who knows, in my perfect daydream world, I may just own both some day ... :cloud9:

I Love Love Love my Cricut!!! I just got it last month buy I've used it so much already. The walmart by me doesn't sell Cricut stuff. So I go to AC Moore and Joanne's, they run sales on them. I took a class at my local scrap book store on using the Cricut and it was great now I know the machine inside out and I'm not afraid to try new things. I've used it for my son's school projects too. I'm so glad I got it. :thumbsup2

I just preordered my Mickey Font Cart, I'll have to wait until I have more money to get the other cart. I'm SO excited about it though. April can't come soon enough for me!

I LOVE my cricut...there is rarely a page I do not use it on now days! I can not wait for those Disney Fonts! :hourglass
