Cricut + SCAL =

(I didn't want to hijack the other Cricut thread. Lots of great info in it though. )

Anyhow, if I have a Cricut and SCAL I don't neccessarily need but 1 cartridge presuming all I'm interested in at this point is fonts?

I told my DH that I'm buying a Cricut for him to wrap up and give me for Christmas. Then my kids can give me the SCAL program.

If I'm thinking right on how the SCAL works then that should hold me for a little while. I'll ask for cartridges that make characters, shapes and all for our anniversary, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, birthday and next Christmas.

In order for SCAL to work, you need to have *a* cartridge in the Cricut. Doesn't matter which one, but you need one there.

You can cut shapes AND fonts with your Cricut and SCAL.

Honestly, I never use my carts anymore. I use scal, and find images, or use myvinyldesigner.com . They charge for images, but it is really reasonable and they have sales all the time. They have the BEST customer service ever - I bought something from them during a sale, and forgot to use the coupon code. They emailed me to TELL me I forgot, and credited my paypal for the difference. I will be a customer for life.

Cool! I *think* that the Cricut comes with a cartridge so that takes care of that. If not, I'll buy one on sale that I like. I didn't know I could cut shapes with the Cricut and SCAL. Thanks, I'll have to do some reading up on that!
