Hi All,

I was curious to know for toddlers (14mo boy) how many people bring their own Pack N Play vs. getting a crib at the Disney hotel? If you brought your own Pack N Play how did you handle it with the airlines, was it considered checked luggage? Any info would be great!! Thanks!!!

The crib Disney gives you is a Pack and Play. We have brought our pack and play on other trips and yes it is checked luggage, but this was also before they charged for checked bags! They do give you a sheet for the pack and play, but we also brought our own just in case.
Hope that helps!

Personally we bring our own. I mean they aren't the easiest things to clean and disinfect between uses, so we feel bringing ours is a good choice!

We borrowed on from CSR on our trip in April. I packed a waterproof pad and a value bed sheet that we put on the PnP. It worked fine for us. At the end of the trip, we left the bed sheet behind.

my son and DH and I went when he was 18 months. The pack-n-play was just too small for him to be comfortable, so i brought bed rails and stacked pillows all the way around the bed and he slept in his own bed perfectly each night.:goodvibes

When you bring your own and bring it on the plane, do you keep it in it's cloth carrying case or do you put it in a box or bag? Sorry for all of the questions, just trying ot make sure I have thought about everything....

We used the pack and play they gave us at pop century. My youngest was 2 months shy of being 3 and slept in it just fine

you are incorrect. Jetblue and SW counts as free luggage...

From the SouthWest Contract of Carriage terms... Page 25.
E. Travel equipment for infants or small children – Two (2) items of travel equipment for infants and small children, such as walkers, child safety seats or collapsible playpens, may be checked and transported in substitution of one piece of the free baggage allowance for each fare-paying passenger at no charge.

So basically, you have 2 free normal luggage spots for each paying passenger. This states, you can use TWO children's items (any combo of walker/stroller, carseat, and playpen) as one of your normal spots.

Ex. you have 1 bag, and a stroller and a playpen. the stroller and playpen count TOGETHER as one item, so it fits in your 2nd luggage spot.

Jetblue allows unlimited "assistive" devices..
JetBlue will courtesy gate-check any of the following assistive devices: strollers, car seats, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, or crutches. There is no limit to the number of assistive devices a Customer may transport as carry-on or checked baggage.

Not clear on playpens, but i'm sure you could argue its an assistive decive.

Wow...that's great, thank you so much for finding that information. I had no idea where to look on their sites for it! :)

Only because i looked when we traveled. I specifically picked Jetblue because of their policy and no checked bag fees.

also, someone else asked about SW and I posted it before. AA isn't clear, but they mention strollers, and if the child has a seat, then normal baggage applies. I didn't look to hard though.

We've always used the Pack N Play provided by the Disney resorts. They've always been very clean and we've never had a problem. I do wipe them down with Clorox wipes and use my own sheet though.

We always seem to have so much to lug around when travelling with little ones...car seat, stroller, diaper bag, etc. I can't imagine adding to that by bringing my own PnP to WDW.

I agree we look like we're running away from home as it is and one more heavy gear item seems opressive, but with 2 kidlets we have 2 car seats, strollers, suitcases, etc. We've always used the WDW PnP and brought our own sheets and blankets; for DS#1 who's 4.5 we have htem bring bedrails to the room (no charge) for his bed he does fine.
