Crib Rental Advice, Por Favor

When we were in the World in November we rented a crib from Children's Furniture Rental based upon the great reviews everyone has given Roy...it seemed like a great choice. He did, in fact, come and set up the crib in our room, but then some idiot from the Beach Club disassembled the crib during a room inspection before we got there so we had to put it back together ourselves. The crib was fine, but what I did not like was the 1 1/2 inch gab between the crib and the mattress. I rolled up a couple of towels to stop the mattress from sliding around but now our 6 month old is a ninth month old and is more active and can stand and bounce. I understand A Baby's Best Friend has crib rentals but I will be traveling without my husband when I first get down there and with three kids and just two hands I am little concerned that I'll be looking at the crib like one of those Ikea bookshelf projects and just wind up propping the pieces together against the wall until my handy hubby comes in a couple days later. Does anyone think that I would be better off renting from ABBF considering that I am slightly challenged when it comes to assembling things or perhaps the staff at the BCV might put the crib together for me (I doubt it - when we found out that the staff inadvertently took our Children's Furniture Rental crib apart - they couldn't even find us a screwdriver to put it back together and no one was willing to help)....any input would be helpful.....I did rent a high chair and and an exersaucer from ABBF and the stuff they sent over was great (clean and new) ....but I don't know about putting a crib together. I definitely want the full size crib with a good mattress like we have at home....my little man-y is long so he doesn't want to be shoved in a 1/2 size crib or the dreaded pack and play (who wants to sleep almost on the floor)...thanks for your advice in advance everyone

We have rented Full Cribs from A Baby's Best Friend numerous times, and could not be happier! They have an AWESOME patented no-tools crib that assembles in 5 minutes (no, really. . .) and a full 6" mattress, and wonderful bedding. And like you said, very VERY clean and like new. They have a wonderful service, and if I can put the crib together, (trust me) anyone can! They offer so much stuff now. . . we get the fans for white noise, too.

Renting from ABBF was the best decision we made years ago. . . and we continue every time we are at WDW. Our trips would be a nightmare without them. . . Imagine your child not sleeping through the night. The old saying is "If baby doesn't sleep, no one does" is dead on. The $77 for the week is very inexpensive insurance that EVERYONE gets the rest they need!

Two thumbs :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Way WAY up!!!!!

We rented a full-size crib from A Baby's Best Friend during our November trip. Our daugher was having an extremely difficult time sleeping in the Pack 'n Play Disney provided. My wife called one day to request a crib and they delivered it to our room at Old Key West.

After reading the previous post, I'm a little ashamed at how long it took me to assemble it (it's a guy not following the directions sort of thing). :rolleyes1

I'm so glad we did rent it because getting her to bed every night was a breeze after that. Definitely worth every penny.

With the cribs from ABBF - did anyone have that problem with the mattress not being flush w/ the crib, like I did at Children"s Furniture Rental where the was a 1 1/2 inch gap???

We have rented from ABBF for years, and the cribs the offer are fabulous, and the mattress fits snugly against the sides like it is suposed to. We have always been VERY pleased with the quality of items and service; it is so RARE in these days.

IMO, what sold me on them the first time was their website, www.abbf.com. It really covers all the bases with photos and answers to questions and the online reservation. And to answer you question about the mattress, here is a copy right off their site, with the link to the whole page after:

Really nice stuff, and it seems they are adding more and more items all the time.

Hope this helps.:goodvibes

Another big fan of ABBF. . . would not even attempt a trip without them. Great service, items, and value.

Highly recommended :cheer2:

Yeah, abbf has great cribs, just DO read the instructions. My friend´s husband was so annoyed saying the crib was so difficult to put together, but of course, as pp mentioned, being a guy he did not read the instructions. After I came and read them, my friend and I assembled it very fast, I just am not sure if I could have done it just by myself, my friend´s hands sure were handy!

Now I'm really torn -- I don't want a crappy crib with a loose mattress but if I can't put the ABBF crib together myself (I do have a very reliable and resourceful 10 y.o daughter that could help me) - what's the point...I was just about to go on the ABBF website and make the arrangements but now I'm torn....what to do???? I did put that Little Tikes desk together for my son a couple of years ago and no one was hurt in the making of the desk, but I want to make sure that my 9 month old doesn't have a crib collapse on him since he is Tigger-riffic and LOVES to bounce, bounce and bounce some more....:confused3
