So we are only 12 1/2 days away to our vacation to WDW!!!

I have read review after review on the DIS about the awesomness of creme brulee. As someone who has never tried it before, where would you recommend having a first encounter with this creamy, sugary goodness?

is one of my favorite desserts. It can produced in so many interesting flavors. A couple of places to try if you are already going there are the Maple Creme Brulee at Le Cellier and the Caramel-banana brulee at Kona.

At a Signature like California Grill or Citricos - but you won't know if they have it until you see a menu that day, since they change constantly.

But for a first Crème Brulée experience, I would recommend trying to find a basic vanilla one. I think Disney gets a little wacky with the flavored ones sometimes. I guess I'm a Crème purist though.

It's actually really simple to make at home - the crème part anyways (sugar, vanilla, cream, eggs, maybe some vanilla bean). You have to have a kitchen torch for the brulée though - the burning pattern is really uneven when you use the broiler.

I give :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for the LeCellier version...LOVE the maple.

I'd suggest starting with the one at Wolfgang Puck Express, which is a QS place. Their crème brulée is really good for a QS place, and it's a nice, basic introduction.

The key lime crème brulée at Narcoossee's was awesome, as was the pistachio crème brulée with chocolate bottom at Jiko.

Oops, I should've given ya'll our ADR's. We're doing deluxe so watch out, it's a long list! I'll only include our lunch and dinner ressies. :goodvibes

Yachtsman Steakhouse
Tony’s Town Square
Spirit of Aloha
Yak and Yeti
Narcoossees
50’s Prime Time Café
Teppan Edo
Whispering Canyon Café
Hoop Dee Doo
Wolfgang Puck Express
Nine Dragons
Le Cellier
Coral Reef

Is the WPE a basic vanilla? I'm wondering how i'll like the more "exotic" flavored ones at the other restaurants. The maple one at Le Cellier sounds interesting.

Thanks for all the responses so far. I'm really excited to try it!

OH, I love creme brulee.

I have gotten it many times at EPCOT (the bakery in France - Boulangerie Patisserie)

I suggest the maple from Le Cellier as well....yumm!

Too bad you aren't going to CRT...mocha espresso creme brulee, quite possibly my favorite dessert our entire trip! :thumbsup2

Since I don't see Chef's De France on your ADR list, be sure to visit the pastery shop in France to get the best vanilla creme brulee I've ever had. I think there must be a whole stick of butter for one dessert. Bon appetite.

.

I 2nd WPE! I do not like Creme Brulee, but DH got it with his meal. I just asked for a taste and I ended up eating almost all of it!

I still think about it and it was a few years ago!

Oop, I guess I forgot to add it. We are doing CRT so I may have to consider ordering that!!

I have a feeling i'm going to be a vanilla fan. Thanks for the recommendation of the France bakery. We're planning to really spend some time in WS not only because of the Food and Wine Festival, but also because we seemed to miss it on our last trip. I'm excited to finally tour the world and try all the different food!

The white chocolate creme brulee at Flying Fish was very nice...best dessert on the "study in Chocolate" plate...should have ordered it alone....YUM!

I'm sad to report that Wolfgang Puck's no longer sells Creme Brulee. My DH and I went to the Cafe tonight to celebrate our anniversary and I was all set to order the Creme Brulee Trio and was informed that WP is no longer selling it, either in the Cafe or in the Express. I have such fond memories of devouring that dessert.

On top of that we walked past the Adventurer's Club, which we also have fond memories of (Kungaloosh!), and mourned its passing. :sad1:

Even our honeymoon resort is "gone" (Dixie Landings). Ah well! We're making lots of new memories this trip!

I would also suggest trying a classic vanilla crème brûlée just to use as a starting point (I'm also a purist and tend to prefer this version).

The maple flavored one at Le Cellier was quite good, but I preferred the chocolate banana one at Kona Cafe. The latter seemed to be half chocolate crème on bottom and vanilla on top and topped with half of a sliced, caramelized banana.

I just tried my 1st creme brulee at lunch at Chef De France and I thought it was AWESOME!

i prefer the plain vanilla myself too. if you go to kona you can get it without banana.

Hello, I tried my first creme brulee at Disney. I believe it was the one at Le Cellier, but then I loved it so much, it's almost all I order now. This trip, though, I plan to order other desserts, just to change it up. I hope you enjoy your first creme brulee.
