Anyone have thoughts? Do most places take credit cards?? This is my preferred method of payment. I have the Disney credit card with a $0 balance....OK....a $21.36 balance as of a few minutes ago (lol...Pin Sale!) and I thought it would be a good way to track our spending. Obviously, we would have cash on hand for snacks and stuff but I wanted to sort of avoid the whole traveler check issue.

Thanks!

You will be hard pressed to find some place in the World that will not take a credit card (and a DISNEY credit card at that! :earsboy: )
In all of our trips, I don't think we have ever had trouble using a credit card. My mom brings a small notebook (oh, my Disney Sisters and Disney Dad laughed at her, of course) but she records all of what she charges in that little notebook at the end of the day to keep track of the charging. The only downside of it is that, unlike cash, you can't physically see the funds dwindling, and that can be very dangerous in the World-especially around those pins-they are very tricky!!!
But I do agree, it is easier than cash for the big meals and heavier spending. You chould have no problems with a credit card-have fun!!!

I use my Disney Visa for everything on our trip-- and because I did last November, I'll have more $$ to spend this October. :teeth:

The best way to track your spending is to use your Disney resort room card as a charge card. At check-in you will be asked if you want this option. If you accept they will take your credit card and encode your room card with the information via their computer system. You can then use your room card in about 99.9% of WDW to charge everything. You can go to your front desk at anytime and ask for a print out of your charges. At check out they will give you a complete listing. If you choose express check out they will put this in an envelope and hang in on your door very early the day you are leaving. The maximum you can charge depends on your level of resort. For values it is $500.00, moderates it is $1,000.00 and deluxes $1,500.00. When you reach your maximum they will send the charge through to your credit card. We always use this option with the room card. This way you have less to worry about losing. If you do happen to lose your room card they will freeze it so no one can charge anything on it and issue you a new one.

We use our Disney Visa as well. All sit-down restaurants and shops take credit cards. I think all counter service do as well, and even some of the carts do, although not all. We use ours as much as possible -- gotta get those points! :goodvibes

We LOVE the room card charging ability!!! You can also call the front desk at any time and find out what your balance is. And if you go past your limit, they can charge it and then start again. We also bring cash for anything outside of the parks, etc. or we use our Mastercard, but the first time we stayed on property and got that lovely pink (now blue for the 50th!) room key/charge card...well...we haven't looked back.

Oh - and at checkout you get a really easy to read itemized bill.
