We are taking our friends down for our first stay at our "home" away from home.... Can you only hook up one credit card for the entire room or can each individual guest have his or her own card hooked up to their room key?

Thanks for any help!!:yay:

You can opt to have some cards not activated for credit card use (for your children, etc) but only ONE credit card can be put on your room. Hopefully they change this soon. Last week when I stayed with my sister I let her put her card on the room to charge to & I just bought a gift card that I could use everywhere so that I didn't have to carry my credit card & ID around (or worry about splitting up the bill with her later). I carried my pre-loaded gift card and the room key with me and that worked out great.

We just had that situation this weekend at Kidani.

What we did was have them not do express checkout and then when it comes time for checkout you can choose to have some of the charges applied to another credit card.

They even have the charges listed by room key so it is not so bad to split up. EX.- we just told them at check-out "put David's charges on this credit card" instead of the one assigned at check-in.

You can still do express check out, just have your guests pay for their charges the night before. The CC on file isn't charged until the balance on your account reaches $1,500 or you check out.

What kind of gift card did you use? Did you use it int he parks?

That's a great idea to have them split the bill at check out too, they didn't tell us about that option.

ILoveMyDVC: we used a Disney Gift Card. You can buy them (using your credit card or whatever form of payment you wish) everywhere on WDW property, before you go at a Disney store or online at the Disney web site. If the card is lost or stolen, email/phone contact them and the card will be 'frozen' and any funds remaining on the card can be transferred onto a new card if you provide the first 12 digits of your card number. An original proof of purchase receipt (the letter that accompanies your card) for the Disney Gift Card is required to transfer the funds onto a new Disney Gift Card. Unfortunately, any funds spent before the card is reported lost or stolen cannot be recovered.

They are supposed to 'freeze' lost Key to the World cards as well, except my mom lost her room key & got another one. Later she found the lost key (never reported that she found it to a CM) and was still able to put charges on it, use it as her park ticket, entry in the room, etc...which really had me concerned!

I love using the Key to the World and not having to carry anything else with me, but the Disney gift card ended up being pretty great too and helped me to actually budget things out a little better since every time I used it they would tell me (and the receipt listed) how much was left on the card.

See that is my biggest fear! That is why I do not attach a cc to my KTTW card.
