Credit card required to reserve Dollar rental?

Hmmmm, I reserved a van through the Dollar site today and got a confirmation number. For kicks, thought I'd try reserving through Southwest's site (again for Dollar). The price is a bit cheaper ~$20. 00 and my credit card info in required for the reservation to go through.

SO, did I miss something on the Dollar site today when I reserved , or do they not require CC to reserve? Always paranoid about something, now I'm worried I won't have a van when I get there.

Dollar, like most car rental agencies does not require a credit card to hold your reservation.

If it from a third party, IE: SWA, tavelocity etc. they do require a credit card. Some rental agencies do also, mainly to discourage no shows.

Dollar does not require a credit card but will do a quick credit check at pick-up if you give them a debit card.
