About 4 years ago someone used DH's SS number to apply for a line of credit out of Louisville, Kentucky. We figured it happened when he went from Lt. Col. to Colonel and someone had access to pay records, etc though the Army pay center. They weren't successful. At the time I called all of the credit reporting agencies and requested that anyone who receives a credit app. from us verify that we have indeed applied. It works four years later. I was told that I would have to renew it every year but it is still there. That's good!

yes, and they ask the details of the application, the dealership, car, etc.

It sounds like they put a 7 year alert on his file. Most are just 90 days.
