Creative Ideas for Telling Them

I’ve read some very creative ways people have told their children that they are going to Disney. Now that my DS is getting ready to tell her three boys, I’ve searched and can’t find any of these posts. She is planning on telling them on DBIL birthday early next month. Any pointers to previous posts or ideas on scavenger hunts or poems would be great.

We have surprised our kids once!!! We picked them up from school with the car packed. Once we got them in the car we told them to shut their eyes and handed them each a t shirt that had a disney character on it. My DD was 3 at the time she didn't have a clue!! UNTIL the DS7 and DS5 started yelling of excitment. Then, she got excited. LOL We had the tv in the car already cued to a Disney movie.

My sister-in-law used us to surprise her boys. They came over for diner and we watched past videos of Disney trips of my family. Her boys were 6 and 4 at the time. While they were watching we brought out a cake with Mickey on it that said LETS GO TO DISNEY!

We told our girls for a few weeks before we were to leave that we were taking them out of school for a sleigh ride and Christmas shopping. The morning of our trip arrived and we woke them and told the sleigh ride was at Wilderness Lodge and they had to get and get moving because they had a plane to catch.

no ideas to share, but good luck!! We're going in April and plan to surprise the kids as well. We may wait til the airport though

There are a ton of ideas on the boards...maybe do a search for scavenger hunts or kots (for keepers of the secret...everyone shares their reveal plans too). Here are some more:

* Get some poster board and make a giant invitation, as if from Mickey or a favorite character, using stickers, glitter, your best cartoon handwriting, etc. and prop it up by the mailbox for the kids to find. If your invitation is from Tink, make it itty bitty with lots of glitter for pixie dust.

* Get the kids custom t-shirts that say "XYZ Family Trip Whenever, 2007" or something like that and pass them out at the party..even wrap them as gifts if you like.

* There was a great thread on the boards here somewhere about how parents surprised their grown children and their families with the announcement in a bunch of fortune cookies.

* Announce the trip on a craft puzzle and give each kid a few pieces to put together .

I took my daughter ( then turning 7) on a mom and me birthday trip to Disneyworld. I got her ready for school and said she was a car rider that morning. When we passed her school I said we were going to do something special for her birthday........................ she had NO IDEA

Do you live in FL? Just wondering since that is a really huge one to pull off!

Nope! We had to fly down from Baltimore! It was wonderful!
