I know you can share a CS between 2 people for lunch
and then can use a full TS for dining if you so wish..

-> Can you use a CS for breakfast??

-> What are the best CS places w/ large portions to share
between 2 people (for lunch or breakfast for that matter)

Just seeing IF you can somehow share a breakfast and
lunch entry (we have 4 people in our clan), not gorge
ourselves during the day, so we can more fully enjoy
the TS Dining experience w/o being full from the lunch..

Lets here from all you experts out there :earsboy:

Thanks in advance...

Steve

Yes, you can share and it can be any meal. The breakfasts at the food courts are usually big enough to share and be satisfied. The mickey waffles are very filling!

As far as lunch, the best places I have found were:
Pinocchio Village Haus - the panini is yummy and 1/2 is a good portion
Pecos Bill's - Ask about getting a double hamburger and an extra bun. I have never done it, but I know people who have.
Tusker House - definately enough for 2
Morroco at WS - we split a vegetarian platter and it was yummy
Mexico at WS - Nachos

Just some suggestions that I am familiar with.

Just so I understand then....

For Breakfast, you can use a Counter Service (CS) for
ordering..

Is this right??

If this is ok, then yes, it would make sense to split the
given (CS) units in two, ie. we have 4 people.. We could
use 2 (CS) each day for breakfast and 2 (CS) for lunch if
we would like to split the entries then right.....

Thanks,

Steve

We split lunches at Comic Rays in MK, Tusker House in AK, Tangierine Market, Morooco, in EPCOT, and ABC Commisary in MGM. All had meals that were easily split.

We enjoyed them all except the one in EPCOT. It was a bit too different for some of the members of our family so we will try some place else next time.

We also shared a CS dinner at Pepper Market. This allowed us to save some TS credits for Dinner shows.

We took milk, cereal and fruits with us and had breakfasts in our rooms so we never needed to us CS credits for that.

We also found that the kids liked the Rice Crispy treats that the resorts sold as snack credits and they often ate those for breakfast on the run. We did use snack credits to eat the yummy chocolate ice cream Mickey bars in the afternoons of days where our ADR was later!

Another vote for Pecos Bill's and Tusker House (AK: chicken or salmon platters are quite large)
also at Cosmic Rays in MK the chicken & rib combo is quite big
MGM Pizza Planet you could share a pizza and the combo also comes with a salad.
I agree that the CS breakfasts or even lunches at the resorts are big enough for sharing.

I would recommend Pecos Bill's for lunch, but not necessarily the hamburger. The chicken wrap is huge and comes with fries. 1/2 the sandwich, 1/2 the fries and a bunch of stuff from the topping bar (tomatoes, pickles, cheese for your fries) and you'll have a great meal.

Remember you can ask for an extra cup at any Disney counter service, so you can even share the soda!

Some of the CS meals are only big enough to share if you share the potatoes at breakfast and the fries at lunch. If you're trying to watch what you eat the healthy portion of the meal might not be enough for two adults.

The current brochure now excludes dessert from CS breakfasts. Many places won't give you an extra muffin or fruit. It may make sense to just pay OPP for breakfast, particularly if you bought a refillable mug.

You can use one CS at several places (Cosmic Ray's, Pecos Bills and Electric umbrella for sure) to get a double cheeseburger combo and pay OOP for an extra bun (I think 80 cents?) and turn it into 2 burgers, split the fries and the frink (or buy a second drink). Electric Umbrella had a yummy big coc chip cookie for dessert big enough to split. Cosmic Ray's had a yummy choc cake, just enough for each of you to have a taste.

If you're interested in splitting a TS credit, my sis and I did this at Whispering Canyon Cafe (we got nachos, meatloaf and the HCOE cake [that was gross, shoulda got something else] and were stuffed!), and we should have done it at 50's Prime Time Cafe and the Plaza Restaurant. At Prime Time, you could get the onion rings appy, the fried chicken platter (3 pieces of chicken, mashies and green beans), and a dessert (ice cream sundae or the Smores are way big enough to split, and the Smores are so good!), and unless you were starving when you got there, this would be be plenty for two. At the Plaza, you could get the Club sandwich w/ fries (for one of you; they didn't give us a lot of fries) as each half is the size of a regular sandwich you would make at home, soup or a side salad as the appy for the other person, and split a dessert (sundae, banana split, etc). Oh, if you split a TS, you probably want to leave a little bit for an extra tip since they are serving 2 people (at the WCC they split our entree for us and didn't charge us for our second beverage, so I left the server $5 (the DP paid her $4.94 for what we ordered).

Cosmic Rays is a great place to share. They have a platter with 1/2 chicken and ribs with potatos and slaw. With dessert it's way too much for one person. Plus, they have chicken noodle soup on the kids menu...a staple in my neice's diet. :flower:

We ate a big Breakfast and split it at POFQ. DD (5) and I shared the King Creole which was hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, bisquit and juice. I had bought the souvie mug so I had my morning Coke with breakfast and she had the juice or usually the choco milk. I ate the potatoes, 1/2 the eggs and bacon and the bisquit.

We also shared lunches at tusker house, that was the only place as we usually were still full from breakfast. Just pick something that will stick to your ribs and youll be fine. DH ate breakfast with his cs and dinner. (Sometimes what DD wouldnt finish for lunch) We shared at Tusker House twice, Seasons Pavilion and Pinochi Haus.

great suggestions. I want to be able to share as well. 2 or 3 meals for us should be more than enough. I may do the OOP or in room bfasts if they have taken the desert off the plan, it is a shame b/c a piece of fruit is a nice snack for later and is not that much $.

We sometimes share lunch in WDW, not to save money or because of Dining Plans, but just because it is so hot, and a half sandwich and some fries are more than plenty.

So when we decided to use the dining plan, we think that it will be easy to stick to the dining plan splitting for B/L, save the L dessert as a snack, and character dine for dinners. I think that the dining plan is really the trick to eating economically in WDW!
