I was speaking with a very helpful Disney Rep lastnight, and she mentioned that there were places in Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Epcot and MGM, where you could get picutres burned onto a CD from your Digital Camera memory card.

Does anybody have anymore info about this, like cost, how long it takes, and where in the parks that they may be located? I plan on taking lots of pictures, and just want to be sure that I'll be able to free up the space on the camera. Thanks.

Ryan

P.S. Only 16 more days until our trip !!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :earsgirl: :earsboy:

WDWFan, I would love this info too! Is there a wait to be able to do this at the specified locations?

I have read elsewhere on these boards about this service. If I remember correctly, you can get this done at the camera shops in all of the parks. I think the cost is between $12 and $15. It seems like I also read that they could only burn a maximum of 120 pictures per CD (less if the image files were bigger. All this information is from what I have read on these boards, I have no personal experience with this. Personally, I have enough memory cards to be able to wait until I get home and burn the disc myself on my computer after I have edited and touched up the pictures. Also, if you can travel of site you could get this done at Walgreens or Walmart in the Orlando area for about 1/3 to 1/2 the cost.

We did this at the Contemporary last year (were going to use the one in MK, but it was out of order). The limit is 120 pics and it costs about $12 per CD. It's similar to those Kodak machines that you see at CVS and the like. Basically you just follow the prompts on the screen and it about 20 minutes (from start to finish) you have your CD. The CMs aren't totally helpful with the process, but I was able to figure it out just using the prompts. Be careful to follow the prompts to the very end before erasing pictures from your camera, as another Diser mentioned that she erased hers before they were actually loaded in the Kodak machine and lost them all. You shouldn't have a problem though if you follow the prompts. I personally wouldn't use it again because it is pricey. For three times that price I can get a 256 card that will hold twice as many pictures and doesn't waste 20 minutes of my park time!

We've just got back and looked into burning some pic's to disk whilst we were in the parks.

However they cost over $12.00 for one disk compard to $2.50 at Walgreens.

This was great for us as we were staying off site. Just one of the MANY benifits you get when staying off site.

Hope that this helps.
