I experienced something today I could never have imagined. Today was forecast for rain, no big deal, right? :confused3 Well, where I work, we got what is normally 4 months worth of rain at this time of the year, in one afternoon!

For a while, my DH and I, who work in the same building which was in a flooded area, were afraid we would not be able to get to my son's preschool, 1/2 mile away, to pick him up because all the streets surrounding our building were completely under water!

Water was leaking through the windows of our building, and a nearby building's roof collapsed from the water! At my son's school, in one of the classrooms the overhead pipes burst from the pressure and flooded part of the building!

Even in hurricanes that have affected our area, we have never seen so much rain at once!

We've been getting a ton of rain the past few days and we're supposed to get more tonight. I love it. You typically don't have to shovel rain. If we had the same precipitation and the temperatures were where they usually are, I'd be under six feet of snow. Of course, it does make me think that getting the snow thrower all tuned up and ready wasn't nessisarily a good investment this year... but it's supposed to get colder tomorrow and they're telling us we'll wind up with 8" of snow by tomorrow night. Woo hoo- it's tobogganing time!

its rained here off and on for the last three days, i'm hoping it dryes out a bit tommorrow, so i can get back to work on the kitchen here , trying to finish up a lot of little projects so we can sell and i lost three days this week.

we got a ton of rain today and apparently (now NONE of the weather guys can agree....) we may or may not get some snow tomorrow...
if we don't get it tomorrow we may or may not get it sunday..... :thumbsup2

Wow, 4 months of rain in one afternoon! :scared:

It's been raining here everyday for over a month. Well it is Portland, Oregon...
Tomorrow we're supposed to have winds up to 65 mph!

We are at a record 108 days without rain. :sad2:

Yeah this weather is something else. I wore a shortsleeve t-shirt today and by the time I got to work I had to take the jacket I had on off it was so warm. The temp keeps going up and down. Cold one day, warm the next.

MinnieM21. Portland! Man I loved that place. Caprial's Bistro on SE Milwaukee... Mmmmmmmmm One of the best meals I ever had... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!
