How diffucult would it be to go leave DS (take boat ?), go to Epcot and have lunch at Le Cellier then return to DS or take monorail back to resort ? It seems feasible, but is it worth the trouble ? I'm not really feeling any of food offerings at DS and was able to get a lunch ADR at Le Cellier on our DS day. What do you think ? Is it worth it ?:flower3:

It will take time - the boat ride takes a half hour, not including time spend waiting for the boat to arrive. If you're good with an hour on a boat go for it.

My wife and I (and two kids in strollers) walked from DS to Epcot a couple of times on a trip last year. Not that bad of a walk. You can always ride the boat the whole way, or jump off at one of the stops and walk the rest. Either way, make sure to pick up fast passes when you leave DS so you can use them on return (even if you're not back within the alloted time, they pretty much always let you use them). For that matter, I'd pick up some fast passes for something at Epcot before heading in to lunch. Have fun.

Yes the boat ride is a 1/2 hr not counting waiting time as well as the walk from there to the boat dock (which isn't too far). You might want to consider an early day at DS and a later lunch at Le Cellier and then head back to your resort via the monorail after? Brown Derby isn't bad at DS although it isn't Le Cellier which hasn't gotten so so popular lately that it is REALLY tough to get a reservation!

Now if you take the boat from DS to Epcot allow at least 45 min to an hr and if you really want to return to DS then walk back. It is quite a walk but certainly possible and you'll definitely "walk off" your lunch after that nice brisk walk.;)

Eating at Le Celliere is NEVER a mistake, or a misteak. We once hopped to Epcot to eat at R&C.

I just got back from WDW and Le Cellier was great. It was my first time getting the "coveted ressie" and yes it was goood. Pretzel bread and filet was great. The cheddar soup was too salty so I will not order soup again. Hope next time I can score Le Cellier again. You will not be disappointed. The transportation to just about anything unless u r on the monorail takes more time than you think. Believe me. We allowed plenty of time and since u don't know where they will stop off let off, pick up, etc. it take a lot of time. The monorail system to me is the ONLY way u can get somewhere fast. But of course IF u then have to change to a bus there u are again, hurry up and wait.

I would not waste my time.... We waited FOREVER at HS for that boat, and it was slow. An hour or more total (one-way!). Le Cellier being popular you might have to wait past your ADR.

Hollywood Studios has plenty to do.... the shows take up a good bit of time. Why not just eat at HS and use what might be up to 2 hours of travel time to do more shows/attractions?

We liked SciFi - fund setting and DS4 liked it. The food was OK, nothing spectacular - stick with burgers, fries, onion rings, shakes, and stuff like that - you will be fine. Mama Melrose was good but nothing unique, just a restaurant. I hear 50s Prime Time can be fun, trying that next trip. If it's adults who want good food - try Brown Derby... Most reviews of Brown Derby are very good... from reading reviews, most who complain were more concerned with the cost or having to use 2 dining plan credits for it.

I would only do it if I were up to walking at least one trip. We walked from DS to Epcot, stopped for ice cream at the BW and still beat the boat we would have been on. It's a very slow trip.

I would do it mainly because there is nowhere good to eat at HS (just my opinion). And the walk isn't that bad.

We love Prime Time a must do every trip & MM is good to. Have you ever tried them. I would not leave and go to Epcot just to eat. Just my opinion,

Hmmm.... I never considered walking to EPCOT from HS... does the walk take you into the WS? There always seem to be lots of places we want to eat at WS but there is never enough time .

When on vacation at Disney with Park Hopper tickets we do what we want whether it makes sense or not! I love Le Cellier, the steak, the soup (I don't have a sweet tooth but I love salty things) and I would go for it. IMO DS is not a whole day park, there's no decent CS places to eat, the TS restaurants there ar fine but a jaunt over to Epcot sounds like fun!

I would do it for LeCellier. I wasn't able to get a LeCellier ADR for 3 years in a row, for any of our days there. I wouldn't give it up. The dining isn't great at DS. I have done the walk before and it isn't bad, just be sure to allow yourself enough time whatever you decide.

Agreed that HS has poor cs lunch choices, BUT concern would be burning 2 hours of travel time just to have a better lunch.

How much do you value food v. park time? That's a personal choice.

The boat ride between Epcot and HS is nice - get to see Boardwalk area, Swan Dolphin and Beach Club, so nice to do, but for me I'd eat terrible pizza planet pizza before burning 2 hours of park time.

Take the boat ride one of the nights when Epcot or HS have pm emh and you are leaving the other park for the day.

Yes! You can walk or take the boat, and yes, takes you into WS.

I agree with other posters...if you have hoppers and have the time, I don't see why not. Unless you are pressed for time...it will take an hour or so round trip.

Another suggestion: We really enjoy the Brown Derby. That would be my solution.

A previous poster mentioned the Brown Derby option, and I just wanted to add our recent experience. We loved lunch at Brown Derby!!

We spend multiple days at DHS each trip - it's our favorite park. So after the mandatory Pizza Planet lunch (we have 3 boys, they love Pizza Planet) we were looking for another lunch option for our 2nd DHS day. We tried Brown Derby for lunch for the first time and LOVED it. Two of our boys ordered from the kids' menus, one ordered an appetizer as his lunch, and my husband and I shared an appetizer, cobb salad for two and the grapefruit cake. It was great! Kid-friendly, nice atmosphere, great food and really convenient. We have TIW so the price was reasonable. If one is on the dining plan, that's another story entirely.

We also like Mama Melrose for dinner, but have not tried lunch.

On the other hand, I think the walk or boat from DHS to EPCOT is manageable - just depends on how much time OP wants to spend in transit. I would estimate 20 minutes walking and maybe 30 for the boat, depending when you catch it.

I am actually thinking of doing this on our may trip. We have a 1:00 adr. I am thinking of getting off the boat and walking from Y/BC. I think I am also timing this with a early morning opening at dhs.
