Crazy to attempt Universal on a Friday morning then MNSSHP at night?

Title pretty much says it all - we are headed to FL in Sept - going to Universal for 3 days prior to DW. Switching from Universal to DW on Friday the 16th. Is it too crazy a plan to go to Universal first thing in the morning - staying at Portofino so we have the Express Pass - , leave after lunch, check into Beach Club, lounge a bit then head to MNSSHP that afternoon at 4? 2A, 2K (11 and 8). Figure Saturday will surely be a lounge type of day. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

i personally wouldnt do that as i feel that would be to much go go go even though you will take a little break after you checkin. MNSSHP is from 4-12 which is good amount of time of being up and out. you also have to account for leaving universal getting to beach club (20-30min), checking in, unpacking and then heading to MK (15-20min). but if your family is up to it then it is doable.

I don't think it's crazy at all! I normally spend 3 days at Universal, as well, and by that third day you usually know exactly what you want to go back and do. Universal Studios opens at 8am that day and IoA opens at 9am - 3 or 4 hours in one or both parks should be perfect and then lunch and a couple of hours to lounge at Beach Club? Yeah, totally doable.

Not at all! We did it. In fact, we did it BECAUSE USO closed at 5pm to prep for Horror Nights, so we stayed till 5, ate dinner at City Walk then went back to Pop to change into our costumes and walked into the party at 7pm.

No, and we actually do something similar to this every trip! We'll start our morning at WDW, whichever park we choose, and then at our leisure make our way over to our Universal hotel, and usually hit a Universal park or City Walk at night. Your timing will be a little bit more important so you can maximize your MNSSHP time, but still very doable. My only advice, though, is to maybe sleep in a bit. Even though it means less time at Universal in the morning, it will give you more gas for MNSSHP that night.

I'd be sure to head to bed early the night of the 15th if you want to do this. That Halloween party, IMO, is best if you are maximizing your time - meaning really being there 4 pm to midnight. Having tired kids just ready to go home at 9-10 pm is a waste of money. So - I mean - I'm grateful folks with kids that poop out and leave the party early - that's what makes it even better the last couple of hours for those of us who get in a ride line at 11:59 pm - but - I don't think just a couple of hours at the party is financially worth it.

Not sure in the difference in price between a 3-4 day ticket at US/IOA - but I do think you can hit that park really well in just three days (now - they have Halloween parties, too - that close the park early). So - unless it's cheap to add the fourth day - you could just do three days there - sleep late - move over to BC and really have time at the pool - and then go to the party, too.

It really depends upon how you schedule your days. Me - unless I have been taking it easy at the parks the first few days - by the fourth day - I'm not ready to go-go go for another 8 hours in a park - I'm tired by that point. The timing of your plan does work - but I suggest not exhausting yourself. I saw you have a relaxing day the next day - but you don't want to pay that much money for one of the parties just to have grumpy kids the whole time, IMO.

I personally would be dead the following day so since this is going to take 1 day to do and 1 day to recoup I think I would prefer to have a full universal day, sleep in, get a nice lunch somewhere and then hit mnsshp that night.. of course if your following day is a lazy day, then maybe your families stamina can have running around univerisal then running around mk after it.. I'm not sure I would last that much walking and would hate to reduce the enjoyment of the party because we're drained before we even started.

based on the title and first post, I think your already on the fence if you can physically handle it and go with your gut.. I would try it if this was the only way we could see universal but I would go into universal with a more lazy attitude saving up for mnsshp.

If that was going to be my only Universal day, then there is no way I would do it. I'd hate to pay for the full day admission and then only use a few hours.
