I do too! They started doing the VIPassholder events and we did the one in Epcot in Sept but it wasn't that great, just like an extra EMH night. We signed up for the one in Feb at MK and I hope that one is a little better. The morning hour at DHS was much much better!

Don't you think AP holders would be a bit smarter than waiting in a long line??

They were so excited they kept pointing at it and showing the other CMs! It was so cute!

They can NEVER get him right! They seem to pick the scrawniest starlords ever!!

I'm still on the learning curve! I was like, are we allowed to do this? But now that I know I'm just like, I'm totally using the laundry room even if I'm on a paid room stay!!

    It did look very untouched!

    Ah ok, makes sense!!

I think I had that fishermans pie once and it was great! I think I'd rather have that over the sausages though!

True, in most cases I'd rather have meat, so I was surprised at how much I liked the fake meat. It honestly wasn't even the meat that made the dish, it was all the flavors combined together. You think it's nachos but it had a gyro flavor and the crispy pita chips were perfection!

    Haha yes, yes I do.

You're gonna have so much fun!

    Ah good to know!!

I'm sooo far behind on everyone's TR!!

It was great! I'm so glad we got that opportunity!

4 times is pretty good!! Did you get FP for 4 days? I think that is what I did for our Feb trip too.

I definitely think the excitement of it being a new ride in a new land help to take away some of the nauseating feeling that I can get form spinning rides.

Oh is this a thing at DL? I have never heard of this!

I remember reading about this! That's really nice of you guys! I'll be sure to bring some stuff for the CMs at our next cruise! :thumbsup2

Thanks! My sister is good with that kind of stuff!

I can't think of a better way to spend an evening! My best day ever TR from 2 years ago was all about that evening in Epcot!

It was really good! Definitely a place for the ice cream sundae lovers!

Thanks! It is so fun meeting them again! It is rare that me and Steve do since we avoid the character lines so it really is thanks to CS!

    I know!! It was so...liberating!

It's super cute! I love the Aliens. It's not as bad as you think but then again it does spin quite a bit.

    Thanks!!

She was so "themed" that day!!

It was one of the best AP events!

    So much fun!

I love this meet n greet, which makes me think that I should meet them more often!

It's soooo adorable!! I heard there was a minnie version but it was limited? I must try and find one!

Oh I hope so, that maze of construction we went to contributed so much walking time!!

Thanks! She loves all that stuff, she was totally in her element!

It was so much fun! Such a great event. I hope they have more like it!

Thanks!! She is really talented at all the crafty things unlike me! :)

    Day 5 Part 2: Tier 1 Tiffins

After our playful meet 'n greet with Russell and Dug, we just had enough time to head into Adventurer's Outpost for our first FP+ before the window closed.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Love meeting them with their safari gear!

Yes, CS changed into another dress. Apparently the Up dress is only reserved for Up characters.

Our next FP+ window opened up and it was for my favorite ride: FoP!! FoP was advertising only a 60 minute wait but I found that hard to believe. The standby line was already snaking around - I think they just did not update the wait time yet at that point. It wasn't the longest I've seen it but it looked like it was pushing the 2 hour mark. One thing I did notice about the FP line was that more often than not, you are put in one of the lower rows. I guess you can always request the top row if you wish but I don't think that we did.

When we got out of FoP we decided to get Moss Wall pics.

    And a PP pic:

Which would have been so much better if that dude wasn't standing in our picture! I think they should maybe just rope off the side of the picture which gets the most crowds.

It was almost time for our Tiffin's Lunch! We booked the FoTLK Tier 1 package which includes a 3 course lunch, commemorative cast photo, private safari, and reserved seating for FoTLK. The cost was I think 100 a person and you can't use any discounts like AP or TiW. We booked the earliest lunch possible, at 11am because we knew we'd skip breakfast to make it to Passholder Playtime and because we also had a dinner ADR at BoG for later and I wanted some time to digest between both 3-course meals! I even refrained from getting my usual "starter" which is a kids meal at Satuli Canteen because I love the chicken bowls so much, but there was gonna be a lot of food today so I held back.

We went to check in at Tiffins and they were not quite ready for service yet so we waited in the reception area enjoying the cool air conditioning. When they were ready 10 minutes later, they brought us into the room on the right side of the restaurant.

We were the only ones there at the time and I kinda love how serene and beautiful it is. :cloud9:

Our package included an alcoholic drink of choice and I think I got the Kangaloosh Ale and Steve got this Syrah:

My sister doesn't drink so I think she got one of the fruity non-alcoholic things or an iced tea.

I remember thinking I should have gotten the wine instead as I think the Kungaloosh ale was too fall-spiced for the mood that I was in even though I had enjoyed it before. Maybe the heat was just getting to me!

As a starter there is no doubt that you all know that I'd order my favorite dish here:

    Charred Octopus
Romesco Sauce, Olive Tapenade, Chorizo, Squid Ink Aïoli

The grilled octopus!! So amazingly delicious, I hope this dish is around forever. I think Steve got the same thing as well.

My sister got some sort of soup. Think it may have been a pea or green curry thing with crab. It's not on the menu now so definitely was a seasonal thing.

    I'm sure she enjoyed it!

It was then we were presented with our commemorative cast photo. Initially when this package first came out I thought we'd get a picture WITH THE CAST of FoTL but my excitement was short-lived when I realized it would only be this photo OF THE CAST. Probably not even the same cast that we saw that day but haha I guess I thought 100 bucks at Disney would buy us gold but yes it us just fools gold! :rotfl:

And only one photo per party.

For entrees, CS and I both got the Whole Fried Sustainable Fish. I think it was a yellowtail snapper that day. We have both had this before and we both loved it. It remains one of the constants on the menu, thank goodness as it's really a great dish that is prepared so well and so full of flavor.

    Whole-fried Sustainable Fish
Fermented Black Bean Sauce, Thai Green Papaya Slaw, Peanuts

I know it may be a bit freaky to see the entire fish with head set in front of you but trust me when I say it makes for a much more flavorful and tender fish compared to if it were filet first then fried. Think of it as bone-in ribeye of the sea! :thumbsup2

Steve got one of the newer entrees, the Surf and Turf:

    Surf and Turf
    Grilled Wagyu Beef, Lobster Tail,

It has a wagyu tenderloin and a lobster tail! The menu currently has a slightly different twist because it says purple potatoes and charred peppers but last year it was served with charred broccolini and regular potato puree. Steve loved this dish, the lobster was soooo nicely done and not chewy at all and the beef was lean yet so tender. I ate his potatoes and they were so creamy and good. It is a great surf and turf dish.

On the plus side too, if you are planning to get this dish at Tiffins, the cost of it is 65 dollars, so for a mere 35 bucks more you can get the full FoTLK Tier 1 package with 3 courses (and a drink!) PLUS you get all the extras thrown in! That is already a great discount if you plan on ordering the most expensive items on the menu anyways. I consider it a great option if you have the time for it! Steve always likes to believe he's getting a good deal so he was very proud of the fact that he tried to beat Disney at their own game. :rotfl:

My absolute favorite dessert on property is the Passionfruit Tapioca Creme. I adore this dish so much! I'm not a big sweets person and I prefer tart and fruity desserts so this dish has all the qualities that make me swoon! I have never gotten another dessert at Tiffins and I've been here about 7 times already. I will surely be petitioning if they remove it.

Whoever invented this, please adopt me.

    Passion Fruit Tapioca Créme
    Chocolate Crumble, Citrus Fruits

    Steve got the Guava Mousse:

    Guava Mousse
    Lemon Curd, Pomegranate Sauce

CS was very excited to see the smear of pomegranate sauce, which looked like jam! :rotfl:

And CS herself got the deconstructed Halo Halo, which is traditionally a Filipino dessert with purple yam and coconut with bright jelly-like condiments on top.

    Halo-Halo
Sweet Potato Ice Cream, Jack Fruit, Raspberry-Ginger Beer Sorbet, Condensed Milk Ice Cream, Coconut Crumble, Lime Pâte de Fruit

They make it look and sound much more refined than the traditional version!

Steve and I also got a French press coffee to share:

So I'm pretty sure this was included with our meal. I can't be 100% sure since Steve paid for the bill but I think that it is. They gave us lanyards to wear for our next activity, which was the FoTLK show, which wasn't until a few hours later at 3pm, followed by our private safari.

Oh boy, we were completely full by the time we rolled out of there, but since we had such an early lunch, we had a bunch of time to kill. I had booked us all FP for the Safari but CS decided that since we had our own private safari later that she'd use the time to go to Dinoland for pictures.

Steve and I headed to the Safari by ourselves. It was blazing hot at this time! Ugh.

    [IMG] [IMG]

I did get a picture of a hippo yawning though! Totally how I felt. #foodcoma

    [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] [IMG]

Look at this little fella who came right up to us:

They seem to have recently started with some PP pics at the end of the safari. Of course why not, after the sweatiest ride ever on Simba One. :scared:

    Meanwhile in Character World:

Impressive array of characters!! Also impressive is how she doesn't even look remotely sweaty. I must have gotten the wrong genes.

I need to get pics of all the ducks too. If they are still around in Feb I will try and go there too!

Coming up...our first class seats at FoTLK, private safari, and dinner with the new prix-fixe menu at Be Our Guest!

I would have thought the same thing as well. But the private safari sounds promising.

I am sure this is delicious. But if I ordered this with the girls around... oye. they would not be happy.

Is she keeping track of who she has met and not met?

I am intrested to see how all of these things turned out.

    awwww!

Well, of course. This goes without saying. How can you even ask such a thing???

    Ditto.
Unless that park's only been open for 2 minutes.

    Sneaky.

"No. No. Not a long wait at all. Please, get in line. Can I sell you some refreshments while you wait?"

Hey I should do that! I've been in a few hotel bathrooms where they have moss walls in the shower.

    :faint: I bet!

    You call this "holding back"????

    I really like those!

How does she stay hydrated!?!?!? :scared:

    Ah. so she does drink.

    ;)

    ::yes::
Although it's not matching up with my memory of previous times you've had this and posted photos. Huh.

    Sounds (and looks) good.

    :lmao:

Please, no offense meant... but if I was handed that, I'd probably toss it.

    :rotfl:
You're kidding! Do you guys share it? You each get to proudly display it for 4 months of the year?

    Wow! That looks amazing!!

    Nope. Not at all.

mmmm... one of my favourite meals. I think I might have a hard time choosing between that and the fish. They both look really good!

Huh. That's not bad at all when you put it that way.

 So, I'm guessing he claimed the "cast photo" for himself?

    ::yes::
Must try this some day. :)

oooohhhhhh... do NOT get between this woman and her Passionfruit Tapioca!

    :rotfl:

    Hard stop. Nope!

    Just like the cast photo!

    Cool shot!

    Long necked selfie.

    Well, she doesn't drink...

Really? That is kind of sad at that price everyone should get their own photo...even if it is fool's gold.

This looked really good. I especially liked how they did the work for you and took the lobster out of the shell lol. When you pay that much you should get to be lazy lol.

Awww your photos with Mickey and Minnie are presh. It looked like it was worth getting that FP in. Also I appreciate CS' outfit changes to pertain to each character lol

Tiffins looks and sounds so delicious. That's a bit of a tease that they offer a photo of the cast and it's not the photo after the show where you get to take a picture with the cast just a special little photo. I'd be disappointed too, but at least you got to enjoy a meal otherwise and would get great seating at the show.

Love all CS's photos at the DinoBash. I didn't realize how many rare characters like Launchpad and Scrooge were there. Omg I hope they're still around whenever I get to go, especially Launchpad and Daisy (love her look!)

    Say whaaaaaaaat?!

I truly am interested in the completed photos!

I hope we can get over to the Poly in time to go to Trader Sam's before O'hana so I can get one too!

I got one too; coming up in a future update. :)

Uh... yeah. :sad2: Who wants a random dude in their photos.

I kinda love EVERYTHING about that place.

I've seen this pop up on several of your TRs. I think I'm going to get it next time I'm there.

    Both of which sound lovely.

I'm glad someone said it! What a joke. It's like when we got Concierge at AKL, and were given a "print"... that a million others have gotten.

    :sad2:

I've had it. Twice. It is truly amazing- artful and totally delicious!

LOL! Good way of describing it.

    Like a "cast member photo".

Adding the smear makes its value about $3 more.

    I'd totally try that!

    That's so awesome!

You clearly have not had enough time with me in person. Spastic is my middle name!

Wow, she certainly goes all out. Can't wait to see it for myself in May.

I had no idea this was even a thing. Of course I have no street crew - Disney or otherwise - at all.

Considering a 3 course meal would probably run you at least $80 that sounds like a great deal.

We love this too, though last time we got it it was no where near hot and lukewarm at best (as was all our food). Wondering since you were amongst the first seated if this was an issue at all.

Man I so thought you got a photo with the cast too. This looks like a bad postcard!

I'm so with you on this. We had this dish twice and it beats cut fish every time. Just beware the bones

Great picture. All we've ever seen is hippos sleeping . I was starting to wonder if they were even real or not.

Ugh, no fair. She is fresh and dewey and beautiful and I'd be sweating rivers with you.

Note to self, book the FoTLK Tier 1 package.

Definitely lol'd at your comment about CS' dress change :rotfl:

I agree about the person being in the background of your pp photo, its so frustrating when that happens! Especially if no ones been in that spot while you've been waiting! My favorite is when someone rolls their HUGE stroller right into my photo :rotfl2:

I'll be honest that whole fish terrifies me! But I'll take your word for it that it is good! I think I would have picked what Steve did!

It seems like with everything you guys got with the meal and the extras the $100 a person didn't sound too bad! (I mean I feel like they probably could have spared a couple of extra cast photos for you guys or probably just actually let you get a picture with the cast! I mean a nice printed photo has to cost extra than grabbing a photopass photographer for five minutes but what do i know! :rotfl:) Especially if you would have eaten at Tiffins anyway! I can't wait to hear how the Safari was!

When you talked about booking this, that's what I thought, too!! This....is not really great :(

VERY freaky!!! Thanks for sharing your meal pics anyway, I do like to see the things I will never eat myself :)

    So....like jam? :)

Your meal at Tiffins looked great. I'm like Steve. When I'm on the dining plan, I order the most expensive thing on the menu. It becomes a challenge to get the most bang for your buck!

I want to know how your sister carries extra dresses and manages to look so fresh and unwrinkled! She hit the jackpot on meeting characters!

I'm interested in your thoughts on the private safari and the new menu at BOG.

Wow that's a great price and you get so many things!!

HAHAHA I imagine they just had a ton of these sitting in a warehouse and were like..."How do we get rid of all these?"

Okay hippo yawning describes my mood about 96% of the time. It is my new mascot.
