Wow that's incredible!! I wish they would do events like that more often at all the parks.

I do too! They started doing the VIPassholder events and we did the one in Epcot in Sept but it wasn't that great, just like an extra EMH night. We signed up for the one in Feb at MK and I hope that one is a little better. The morning hour at DHS was much much better!

HA that's exactly what I was going to say in response! I've seen a short AP line maybe once.

Don't you think AP holders would be a bit smarter than waiting in a long line??

They were so excited they kept pointing at it and showing the other CMs! It was so cute!

That's one of the sorriest looking Starlords that I've seen!

They can NEVER get him right! They seem to pick the scrawniest starlords ever!!

Makes sense to me! Dues are dues! I call them my "monthly subscription to Disney", which entitles me to stay there any time that I want as long there is availability!

I'm still on the learning curve! I was like, are we allowed to do this? But now that I know I'm just like, I'm totally using the laundry room even if I'm on a paid room stay!!

I've never seen anyone inside there and I own there and have stayed multiple times!

It did look very untouched!

If you're traveling at times that aren't F&G or F&W you can get it right at the 7 month mark. That's one of the reasons I own there, we bought our last few contracts at the smallest resorts thinking that places like AKL would be easy to get into.

This is one of my new favorites since they replaced the Fisherman's Pie with this.

I think I had that fishermans pie once and it was great! I think I'd rather have that over the sausages though!

I just have a hard time with things that have meatless food mimicking meat. I'd rather eat the meat. I have some vegan recipes that I really like, but not because they are vegan, because they taste good.

True, in most cases I'd rather have meat, so I was surprised at how much I liked the fake meat. It honestly wasn't even the meat that made the dish, it was all the flavors combined together. You think it's nachos but it had a gyro flavor and the crispy pita chips were perfection!

You know how I feel on the subject of Coconut!

4 times is pretty good!! Did you get FP for 4 days? I think that is what I did for our Feb trip too.

I'm not sure I could ride that second one even more than once. I felt really icky the last time I rode Mader's ride in Carsland.

I definitely think the excitement of it being a new ride in a new land help to take away some of the nauseating feeling that I can get form spinning rides.

Do they take pictures of the 1 day passholders when they enter for the first time in WDW or is that just a DL thing?

Oh is this a thing at DL? I have never heard of this!

I'm not sure about the characters, but we bring Ghiradelli chocolates on the cruises and give them to all the photographers and handlers at the character photos. By the end of the cruise they give you top notch service!

I remember reading about this! That's really nice of you guys! I'll be sure to bring some stuff for the CMs at our next cruise!

An Epcot evening spent strolling around with bevvies and nibbles is pure perfection!

I can't think of a better way to spend an evening! My best day ever TR from 2 years ago was all about that evening in Epcot!

I love the tomato bisque there! It is a lot of ice cream for sure.

It was really good! Definitely a place for the ice cream sundae lovers!

Thanks! It is so fun meeting them again! It is rare that me and Steve do since we avoid the character lines so it really is thanks to CS!

We did the path from Boardwalk to HS before all the construction began and it wasn't so bad, hopefully once everything is done it won't be such a long walk.

Day 5 Part 2: Tier 1 Tiffins

After our playful meet 'n greet with Russell and Dug, we just had enough time to head into Adventurer's Outpost for our first FP+ before the window closed.

Love meeting them with their safari gear!

Yes, CS changed into another dress. Apparently the Up dress is only reserved for Up characters.

Our next FP+ window opened up and it was for my favorite ride: FoP!! FoP was advertising only a 60 minute wait but I found that hard to believe. The standby line was already snaking around - I think they just did not update the wait time yet at that point. It wasn't the longest I've seen it but it looked like it was pushing the 2 hour mark. One thing I did notice about the FP line was that more often than not, you are put in one of the lower rows. I guess you can always request the top row if you wish but I don't think that we did.

When we got out of FoP we decided to get Moss Wall pics.

Which would have been so much better if that dude wasn't standing in our picture! I think they should maybe just rope off the side of the picture which gets the most crowds.

It was almost time for our Tiffin's Lunch! We booked the FoTLK Tier 1 package which includes a 3 course lunch, commemorative cast photo, private safari, and reserved seating for FoTLK. The cost was I think 100 a person and you can't use any discounts like AP or TiW. We booked the earliest lunch possible, at 11am because we knew we'd skip breakfast to make it to Passholder Playtime and because we also had a dinner ADR at BoG for later and I wanted some time to digest between both 3-course meals! I even refrained from getting my usual "starter" which is a kids meal at Satuli Canteen because I love the chicken bowls so much, but there was gonna be a lot of food today so I held back.

We went to check in at Tiffins and they were not quite ready for service yet so we waited in the reception area enjoying the cool air conditioning. When they were ready 10 minutes later, they brought us into the room on the right side of the restaurant.

We were the only ones there at the time and I kinda love how serene and beautiful it is.

Our package included an alcoholic drink of choice and I think I got the Kangaloosh Ale and Steve got this Syrah:

My sister doesn't drink so I think she got one of the fruity non-alcoholic things or an iced tea.

I remember thinking I should have gotten the wine instead as I think the Kungaloosh ale was too fall-spiced for the mood that I was in even though I had enjoyed it before. Maybe the heat was just getting to me!

As a starter there is no doubt that you all know that I'd order my favorite dish here:

Charred Octopus
Romesco Sauce, Olive Tapenade, Chorizo, Squid Ink Aïoli

The grilled octopus!! So amazingly delicious, I hope this dish is around forever. I think Steve got the same thing as well.

My sister got some sort of soup. Think it may have been a pea or green curry thing with crab. It's not on the menu now so definitely was a seasonal thing.

I'm sure she enjoyed it!

It was then we were presented with our commemorative cast photo. Initially when this package first came out I thought we'd get a picture WITH THE CAST of FoTL but my excitement was short-lived when I realized it would only be this photo OF THE CAST. Probably not even the same cast that we saw that day but haha I guess I thought 100 bucks at Disney would buy us gold but yes it us just fools gold!

And only one photo per party.

For entrees, CS and I both got the Whole Fried Sustainable Fish. I think it was a yellowtail snapper that day. We have both had this before and we both loved it. It remains one of the constants on the menu, thank goodness as it's really a great dish that is prepared so well and so full of flavor.

I know it may be a bit freaky to see the entire fish with head set in front of you but trust me when I say it makes for a much more flavorful and tender fish compared to if it were filet first then fried. Think of it as bone-in ribeye of the sea!

Steve got one of the newer entrees, the Surf and Turf:

Grilled Wagyu Beef, Lobster Tail,

It has a wagyu tenderloin and a lobster tail! The menu currently has a slightly different twist because it says purple potatoes and charred peppers but last year it was served with charred broccolini and regular potato puree. Steve loved this dish, the lobster was soooo nicely done and not chewy at all and the beef was lean yet so tender. I ate his potatoes and they were so creamy and good. It is a great surf and turf dish.

On the plus side too, if you are planning to get this dish at Tiffins, the cost of it is 65 dollars, so for a mere 35 bucks more you can get the full FoTLK Tier 1 package with 3 courses (and a drink!) PLUS you get all the extras thrown in! That is already a great discount if you plan on ordering the most expensive items on the menu anyways. I consider it a great option if you have the time for it! Steve always likes to believe he's getting a good deal so he was very proud of the fact that he tried to beat Disney at their own game.

My absolute favorite dessert on property is the Passionfruit Tapioca Creme. I adore this dish so much! I'm not a big sweets person and I prefer tart and fruity desserts so this dish has all the qualities that make me swoon! I have never gotten another dessert at Tiffins and I've been here about 7 times already. I will surely be petitioning if they remove it.

Whoever invented this, please adopt me.

CS was very excited to see the smear of pomegranate sauce, which looked like jam!

And CS herself got the deconstructed Halo Halo, which is traditionally a Filipino dessert with purple yam and coconut with bright jelly-like condiments on top.

So I'm pretty sure this was included with our meal. I can't be 100% sure since Steve paid for the bill but I think that it is. They gave us lanyards to wear for our next activity, which was the FoTLK show, which wasn't until a few hours later at 3pm, followed by our private safari.

Oh boy, we were completely full by the time we rolled out of there, but since we had such an early lunch, we had a bunch of time to kill. I had booked us all FP for the Safari but CS decided that since we had our own private safari later that she'd use the time to go to Dinoland for pictures.

Steve and I headed to the Safari by ourselves. It was blazing hot at this time! Ugh.

I did get a picture of a hippo yawning though! Totally how I felt. #foodcoma

They seem to have recently started with some PP pics at the end of the safari. Of course why not, after the sweatiest ride ever on Simba One.

Steve loved this dish, the lobster was soooo nicely done and not chewy at all and the beef was lean yet so tender.

This looked really good. I especially liked how they did the work for you and took the lobster out of the shell lol. When you pay that much you should get to be lazy lol.

Tiffins looks and sounds so delicious. That's a bit of a tease that they offer a photo of the cast and it's not the photo after the show where you get to take a picture with the cast just a special little photo. I'd be disappointed too, but at least you got to enjoy a meal otherwise and would get great seating at the show.

Love all CS's photos at the DinoBash. I didn't realize how many rare characters like Launchpad and Scrooge were there. Omg I hope they're still around whenever I get to go, especially Launchpad and Daisy (love her look!)

I'll be honest that whole fish terrifies me! But I'll take your word for it that it is good! I think I would have picked what Steve did!

It seems like with everything you guys got with the meal and the extras the $100 a person didn't sound too bad! (I mean I feel like they probably could have spared a couple of extra cast photos for you guys or probably just actually let you get a picture with the cast! I have to say you (and @kastoney) convinced me to add Tiffin's to my April trip after raving about it for so long, and I hope that my meal is half as delicious as what you've posted. Yum!
