Craziest thing you have done to save money to get to DISNEY!

i saw that episode! Hey...they make it work! but, i guess you'd have to with that many kids! Bless her heart!!!

I've been cutting way way back on our entertainment $$. Instead of going to the movies every week or every other I enrolled in the blockbuster online thing. saves me a lot each month. Not going out to dinner as much. Basically just spending a lot of time at home, or doing things that don't cost money. Local park, hiking on some state trails, etc.

+ i'm not renting carts this year. That'll save me a lot by itself! I'm just happy that it is flat, and not so hilly!!! if there were, ya'lld see me out walking my bike up the hills! :lmao:

OH!!! and we eat a lot of sandwiches and cereal!!! No joke! Although....i'm not sure if that is to save money, or because it is soooo fast & easy! LOVE SOME CHEERIOS!!

Hello,
Just wanted to say that I lived in Lakeland for a few years when I was growing up. I went to Lakeland Highlands Middle School, and lived in a development outside of town called Shepherd South. It's been a long time, but I have good memories.....;)

Well,
1, I only eat fish that I catch (save $ not buy'n fish)
2. only drink my neighbors beer (save a bundle there)
3. wear my clothes for a week, then turn them inside out for a couple days (save on water and Detergent)
4. don't mow the yard anymore (save on gas)
5. run extention cords from my other neighbors for electricity (save BIG there)
6. take a empty gas can , late at night, go to the fuel stations and drain the excess gas in the hoses into the can, (onna good night you can get a couple FREE gallons)
7. Borrow your friends car every chance you get.
8. Weekly shower (saves on soap, shampoo, water)
9. Free TV cable if you tape into neighbor with multiplug.

Ya'll are welcome to use my "savings hints" ,
If you need more, I got a bunch.

heres a couple more..

10. take your family, or a date, out to lunch on week-ends,,
hit all the groceries that serve samples,,
you may have to go round a couple times. (Free Eats)

11. Remember those"Electric Pet Clippers" you bought so you coud trim the dog? Well cut your own hair! Yes this could take some gett'n use too, and you may have to endure laughter and some ridicule,,but if it's good enough for Fluffy ! (save a bundle at the barber)

12. If you are a smoker,,remember, on your way out of public buildings, look in the butt trays for ALMOST whole cigarettes. You'd be amazed at how many folk light up to get that one puff before going in and snuff out a whole cigarette. (the savings can really add up)

More savings ideas to come. :thumbsup2

Frankensoap is FTWGuys invention....he sneaks into the comfort stationas and collects all the left over pices of soap that people deem too small to pack for the trip home...smushes the things together and creates a "left-over-soap-ball"...complete with sprigs of hair!!! This, my friends....is known as FRANKENSOAP!!!! "Its ALIIIIIIIVE.....its ALIIIIIIIVE!!!!"

EEEWWWEEE!!!!! That's gross

That is the grossest thing I've ever heard of in my life. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

I will admit that over the past few years I have started living alot better not with more but with less. I can eat alot of mac and cheese, beans and rice, but I ain't doing ther FRANKENSOAP!!!!

I thought the same thing about the soap...ew! :) But in all seriousness, we have done some things in the last few years to stretch our dollar. I recycle pop cans much to my hubby's dismay (last payoff after saving for months was only $31 LOL). We rarely dine out. We never go to the movies (if it ain't on the dish or on DVD were not seeing it). Had a big yard sale last spring at my sister's place (come to think of it I didn't get any return on that, hmm?). We go to Sam's Club & buy in bulk although I question if we're saving much. I used to consign clothes so I'm going to resume that over the summer. We recently got a Disney Visa & hope to reap the rewards some day. Biggest change is I got a second job last summer...that's not without it's drawback in that I'm stuck working almost every weekend & between my two positions I work full-time but am awarded no benefits. Still grateful to be working though.

I know there are some people on here looking for work. Maybe we could each pick a week, 4, or 2 day stretch. Call up the construction crew working on the pool and tell them for your site fee/rental you will sit by and watch there crew working on the pool and make sure the boss has plenty of help....

You know those "made from recycling" napkins that Disney uses,,,
what do you spose they are recycled from, that makes them BROWN ?
