Awesome video, @Teleclashter! Please tell Kylie to feel better, and it was so touching to feel her delight at being/staying there. I love AKL, and try to get on property every visit, to "hang out" with the animals, I have also been blessed to be able to stay there twice, savanna view rooms both times. I know when the lodge opened, all of the room furniture was hand carved by African craftsman specifically hired for that task (told to us during the free tour of the lodge you could take with a CM, don't know if they still do that), don't know if that is still true as stuff has been switched out over time. I also had a hilarious encounter watching a bird there - he kept chasing/running after (with his huge wings splayed out) a feeding truck in the early morning, but kept forgetting the truck would stop, and banged into it every time. So your video made me crack up, and remember that! Thanx again for taking the time to document your time there!

Watching Kylie get so excited about the room and the giraffes and Craig losing it at the flamingo crashing serves as a reminder that Disney can make adults feel like 5 year olds walking down main street for the first time.

I was exactly like Kylie when I first stayed at AKL. We weren't even in our room yet and I dragged my husband (with our luggage) to see the giraffes and it was just getting dark. I watched them as long as possible. We didn't have a Savannah view, so when we got up each day I immediately went to see the animals and did the same when we got back from the parks. Love AKL soo much!
