Crafting My Way To An October F&W Extravaganza! Final Days Update 10/7

Hi Joining in! :goodvibes The crafts are great. I made those ribbons princesses for my DD's they loved them. I am in the process of making autograph books :)
Great crafts!

Hi! Joining in. LOVE your craft projects, and of course your thrilled about your trip to WDW.

And now they have FD for your dates so you go girl...:rotfl2:

I just saw that they added those dates to free dining! Unfortunately I don't qualify to rebook for free dining since we are booked through DVC points. If I could get free dining this trip on top of our existing plans, I would be a force of nature this trip!

Great crafts!

Welcome! The autograph books will be so fun! I keep seeing projects for those on Pinterest, but since we don't do too many character experiences it wouldn't be worth it for me to make one. I keep saying that I'm going to bring down scrapbook pages for the characters to sign and incorporate them into my scrapbooks, but I never do it. Hope your autograph books turn out great! :goodvibes

Hi! Joining in. LOVE your craft projects, and of course your thrilled about your trip to WDW.

Thanks for joining in! :goodvibes So happy you are enjoying the craft projects! Hopefully I'll have a chance to do a few more these next 2 months.

I just returned from 4 days in NY and thought I would share a little non Disney update with you all. While visiting family we spent 2 days visiting wineries along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. What a fantastic experience! I highly recommend visiting the area. We spent one day along the one trail and one day walking up and down the trail at Watkins Glen State Park, followed by a few more wineries. We visited 7 wineries in total. I was hoping for more than that, but not everyone in our group could hang with me. I'm in training for F&W Fest after all

My favorite stop was Hazlitt Winery. They have my favorite wine of all time. Red Cat wine. The original hot tub wine. It's their slogan, I swear. :rotfl2: I bought it one time as a joke, but I actually love it. It was awesome to visit their winery in person. Here I am with a Red Cat slushie.

I cannot even tell you what a thrill this was for me. I read about their Red Cat slushie on their Facebook page all the time, so it was great to actually have one for myself. Everyone in our party had one and all were impressed.

One more pic from the wineries. Here are my mom and I at the Penguin Bay Winery, hamming it up.

I came home with some serious wine loot. I got a lot of little knick knacks (bottle openers, keychains, magnets etc.) but here is a shot of the wine I came home with.

Some wine and wine glasses from the trip. The Glenora Peach Spumante is AMAZING!

A four pack of various individual sized Hazlitt wines. These are perfect for me because I open a bottle of wine so sporadically, and for only one glass.

I also bought some yummy cheese, which I forgot to get a picture of before I cut into it. Hubby and I may or may not have already broke into the wine and cheese souvenirs. :rolleyes1

This was the last of my 4 pre-planned trips this past month. Now I can get back to the REAL trip. DISNEY WORLD! More crafts to come very soon, I hope!

Thanks! The autograph books are turning out to be very fun. Taking scrapbook pages for the characters to sign is a cute idea. We did a character blanket one year. :)

You know you are officially an over-planner when you start packing two months before your trip. :rotfl2: I actually started to pack up all of the toiletries I don't currently need, but will be taking on our trip. I have my semi-finalized packing list all typed up as well. Now I'm obsessing over my itinerary. My SIL and her boyfriend might be coming down for a few days during our trip, so I'm changing a few plans around to include them in with what we are doing on those days. I also realized that now that we got our final waitlisted day at BWV, I have a 10 day park hopper, but 12 days in WDW. I know we won't go into a park our last day, but now I need to decide whether we should do a non-park day or get MNSSHP tickets and do that one evening instead. I have some old water park tickets I could use to fill up part of a day too. Decisions, decisions.

On another obsessive planning note, I just bought some Disney themed items from Target and Walmart that I thought I would share with you all. These got packed up today for the trip!

How cute are those Band-Aids?! I couldn't pass those up. I always take a box of Band-Aids with me anyway, so why not some cute Monsters Inc themed ones. I can't stand to use bar soap to wash my hands, so I always take a bottle of hand soap with me on vacation. I discovered this Minnie one before our last trip and I had to pick it up again this trip. Target and Amazon are the only places I've seen that carry it.

I also made up my Mousekeeping envelopes!

I love these! I've been using these the last few trips. If you want the link to these you can find it HERE. I use the Envelope Project link. You print out the design you want and cut it out and fold all the edges down, tucking the money into the folds. Then I secure the folds down with one small piece of tape. So easy! Just a fun little activity to do before your trip!

Joining in! I love doing crafts & making things, so I love all the fun things you're doing :)

I have started packing that early also. Our last trip back in 2010 I bought new clothes for the trip, like I always do, and they went straight into a suitcase. I didn't want to wear them or forget about them so anything new for the trip went right in the suitcase.

Very cute envelopes. I pinned that link to my Pinterest.

You definitely aren't alone in packing early! I start packing months before my trips. I keep my suitcase in my office and just toss things in that I won't be using before the trip and keep a running list. I love that soap, they are really expensive here, but so cute! Great job on your mousekeeping envelopes!

Jumping in on this thread!! Nothing better then combining WDW with Pinterest!! :thumbsup2 I LOVE crafts and all of yours have been amazing so far. Please keep them coming...

Thanks for joining in! :goodvibes I just caught up with your PTR. I hope you guys have a great time at F&W next month! On a side note, that is so awesome that you make those baby quilts for your friends. Love them! I really want to learn how to sew.

Okay, I'm glad someone else is an early packer too! I don't think I could pack up new clothes right away though. I need to wear all new clothes the very instant I get them. I get way too excited with new clothes.

Excellent! Glad you were able to pin that link. It's a great thing to have on hand for future trips. :thumbsup2

Welcome! Pinterest is seriously feeding my WDW addiction. I love it! More crafts to come very soon. I'm hoping to do some Disney themed baking the next few weeks too. I've been trying to watch my weight, but a few Mickey Mouse themed cupcake won't kill me. :thumbsup2

A few new crafts to add today! I already made a Tinker Bell ribbon, but I picked up some new ribbon a couple weeks ago and decided to make another one with different ribbon for the wings. Here is Tinker Bell with new and improved glitter wings.

Here is a side by side comparison with the first one I made with the white ribbon wings.

I'm not sure which one I like better. I think probably the glitter wings.

I also made a Princess Tiana ribbon today.

I love this one! I think it turned out super cute! Princess and the Frog has become one of my absolute favorite Disney movies. It doesn't get nearly enough love in the parks. On a side note, Disney really needs to add Tiana to one of the Princess character meals.

Today I also decided to look online for a print out of the license plate game to take with us on the drive to Florida. I usually end up writing a list of all the states in my little notebook I carry on trips with me and mark them off in there, but I wanted to have a decent list to keep separate in the car this time. When I googled images for it, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Disney themed checklist!

I think this was originally created and posted by someone here on the boards, so a very special thanks to them for this cute little license plate game. :thumbsup2 A link to the original image can be found HERE

That's all I have for today. I really want to do a couple of baking projects this week. I had been trying to avoid these in an attempt to lose weight before vacation, but I can always give my yummy creations away. I'm sure my friends and family won't protest too much! :rotfl2:

They came out great!! I would never be able to do that.

Thanks for checking in on our pre-TR too! We're getting excited (well, I've BEEN excited, DBF is only really starting to get excited now that we're getting pretty close)

Sewing isn't as hard as it looks and almost all quilts can be broken down to just straight lines! I learned a TON from internet tutorials, but a lot of local quilt shops have classes too - it's a lot of fun!

Love your new princess ribbons - both Tinks look excellent, but I think I prefer the glitter wings myself.

Oh, and I'll probably start the packing/setting things aside process before too much longer. We might be moving immediately prior to the trip as well, so that'll be a fun wrench thrown into the mix as well. Oh boy.

Hey Jeri, don't know how I missed this before but I was excited to see you are doing a pre-trippy. I am looking forward to reading about your plans on the run-up to our trip (we arrive just as you leave) and I hope you're going to do a dining review again :thumbsup2

Love all of your craft projects, although the coasters are my favourite. I'm definitely going to give them a try :)

Such un ideas for crafting. Your hair ribbons are so much fun..LOVE them I might need to try them.

I also love the coaster you made.

Thank you! You really could do it , I swear! It's much easier than it looks. :thumbsup2

Thanks!! I love the envelopes. They are currently sitting on my dresser as a nice daily reminder of WDW. :goodvibes

Love the new ribbons and tinks updated wings & tiana looks great. :)

Thank you so much! Now I just need two more ribbon colors and I can try out my last two princesses, Rapunzel and Mulan.

Oh boy, I'm sure that's going to be a pain for you to have to move so close to a vacation. Moving is such a pain. We had a great situation when we moved 2 years ago. We got the keys to the new place a week earlier than our move in date and had a month to get out of our old place. It was so easy to take things in small trips and have time to get situated. Good luck with your upcoming move. Hope everything goes smoothly! :thumbsup2

love your ribbons!

Thank you so much! I actually wore one to jury duty today. Made me feel a little better about being there.

Hey there Joh! That stinks that I'll just miss you guys.:sad2: We'll get to meet up in WDW one of these times! Definitely doing a DR! That's one of my favorite things about the trips. If Barb still has the Live Dining thread going in October I'll take part in that as well. Hubby has already been warned that I will now be needing two pictures of all his food. One with the camera for my DR and one with my phone for the live thread. Let's see how long into the trip I drive him crazy taking pics of his food! :rotfl2:

The coasters turned out great! And you could do it as a non-Disney project too. I just did ones for a bridal shower where I printed out maps online of significant places in the couple's lives (where they met, where they are getting married, etc) and made those into coasters and gave them wine glasses and wine with them for a whole theme. They were a huge hit!

Such un ideas for crafting. Your hair ribbons are so much fun..LOVE them I might need to try them.

I also love the coaster you made.

Thanks! I hope you get a chance to try making the ribbons. They are so much fun! I'm starting to make doubles just because I enjoy making them so much.
