If it gets to the point where you actually have a crack that is bleeding or really hurts, try crazy glue to close it back up so it can heal. Really, it works!
thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I started by soaking them in a mixture of 1/2 warm water and 1/2 lemon juice. Then I used the pumice stone and lastly slathered on the Burt's Bees foot cream. So far they are already very much improved. Thanks again.
Amlactin from walmart or Cosco is what my podiatrist said to use. I also use it when my hands or legs or arms get extra dry. It's not good if your hands/arms etc are cracked and almost bleeding though since it will sting... if you can stand the stinging though it works great.
Another frequent heal cracker here. I use Gold Bond heal/foot cream. It comes in a blue squeezeable container. I then place my heals in a plastic bag or socks overnight. But I don't apply it until after I have used a foot scrubber (I call it the cheese grader) on my feet. I will have to try some of the other rememdies on here.
