Anyone ever book CR garden wing and get upgraded to the tower? Not looking for a complimentary upgrade (although if offered, I definetly wouldn't turn it down) but, if you were able to upgrade at check-in to the tower, how much more did they charge per night? Thinking yet again about trying for CR as my 4yr old ds keeps asking to stay there and I wouldn't mind either as we have yet to try it out but would prefer the tower if we do. I just can't justify over $250 per night though for the tower rooms. Of course if I do go ahead and book a wing room, I realize it may not be possible to upgrade and I'm okay with that but just wondering if there's any chance of getting a tower upgrade at check-in for any less than booking it ahead of time.

:scratchin TIA!

The first time I stayed at the Contemporary in 2002 I asked about upgrading to the tower, and was offered the upgrade for about $70 more per night than my standard view wing room. Stupid me, I didn't take it at the time just to experience a tower room. But at least at that time it was possible to upgrade if rooms were available. You kinda take your chances though- if they're sold out, you get the room you originally reserved, so if you'd be disappointed in a wing room, you might want to go ahead and book the tower.

Just a thought...ya know...for a 4 year old they just love the monorail and all the fun things at MK and such...so what I would think is...stay at the Garden Wing saving the $$ for the first nights and then on your last night there...see if you can upgrade for the one night...you might even be able to make a ressie like that and you could really build it up with your child that you wanted your last night to be saying good night to the castle.

It wouldn't be hard to switch rooms...they'll move the luggage for you...I just don't see spending over $500 for a 7 night stay for a view when most likely the 4 year old will be sacked out after a long day's walking/riding at the park. But one night would be cool!

Actually, we are only talking about a 2 night weekend stay. Going for the MVMCP on a Friday night. I just can't justify over $250 per night just to stay in the tower vs. $145 per night for a wing room. If I can upgrade for $50-70 dollars from $145 I was thinking Maybe since it's Christmas....but not for $250 per night plus tax! I'd be okay if I booked a wing room and at check-in tried and couldn't get the tower. I'm just curious if anyone's done it and got tower for the smaller upgrade fee. $145 plus $70 = $215 still better than $250. So I figure if I end up in the wing room I do, BUT if we luck out and I can get the upgrade at check-in, it would be hopefully for much less when you figure in 2 nights.

Anyhow, that's why I figured I ask and see if anyone has had any success and if so how much the upgrade cost them.

Anyone else??
