Quick "resort board" report! :earseek:

CR Tower: 1 nite prior to cruise, very quick check in, got 11th floor mk view, center, very clean room, good working order, nice front desk staff, Very pleasantly surprised! Check out next day no problem, and bell staff quick and efficent. off to port C!

As a regular to the resort board, and 1st time disney cruiser, We loved the "wonder". It was great, and definately will keep our cruise as booked for march 2005! :earseek: Ship is beauitful, lots to do, food was good, we really liked looking out our balcony, watching the castoff's and entry to ports. We were exhausted after 3 days! And needed WDW to rest ;) ! Also people on there BEST behavior, cause your locked up togther, and you have to get along, every nice, polite, etc.. and No one on cell phones, (no singles out at sea)! Also there are NO mosquito's! ::yes:: It was a pleasure to be outside for a change!

Land Ho: Cr Tower: 1 week 8 th floor mk view toward space mt. side. Good location, nice clean room, never saw housekeeping, but room care done early each day and quickly. Cm's pleasant. BUT huge convention (dance competition) & (businessman) We noticed little touches missing, goofy & minnie etc.. not in the elevator voice anymore, phone wake up not mickey , and tv is different more like a convention center in large city tv, not all the disney stations? no radio disney on the tv, missing some of the park channels (we found out after going to poly). Cr was the BEST view from the tower on property BUT is it trying to be convention central? If your not in a convention, you kind of got lost last week in the crowd. :earseek: Check out valet behind 40 minutes! for luggage, didn't want us to pull up to door with our car. Move out of the way, etc... nitemare.

pirate: Polynesian! So excited to return, I kept wanting to turn in here all last week! Well we start off with a bang. CM at front desk, you room is ready! your in Tokelau, yes, where 2nd floor, facing tahiti, (yuk). Ooh I say, I asked if there was none of my request available at all, we did not mind waiting! (in best disney friendly voice) CM  (no personality & I'm not exaderating) "Well how am I supposed to know your request, if you don't have any?" I said well, I had requested with the cro and did check with them before we came down to be sure everything was listed, and it was. I relaize it is only a request but if its not available that's fine. She said "well what do you want?" I said I requested 3rd floor! in samoa, tokealua, or raoratonga. ::MickeyMo So she says ok, you can have raoratonga! But your going to wait for it. (like a threat) then I was threaten with its 75 cents for each phone call & if you want a fridge its 15.00 a day & we will charge you, I was planning on the fridge (and the price ) but she (KJYYT%%^&) so much that I said I would not dream of putting her out. she handed me 2 lei's and said good bye! I wandered off confused, and CAME TO MY DIS SENSE! went back > said isn't there a card your supposed to give me with the # to check on our room, and she said oh, here and pulls it out, and she never did give me park papers or the poly paper. Later that day I did call and had a lengthy talk to a front desk manager, who offered to buy us dinner, but I declined.
Our room faced the monorail , parking lot, but we could NOT see the parking lot, and were on the 3rd floor. We were in the center of the building, next to the kid who jumped on the bed morning, noon, and nite. I'm sure it needs a new mattress now. These rooms are prefect, just refurb, and it shows! It was really nice. We had a really pretty tree near us and some palms, nice plants. and the monorail. Very near bus station, but no noise from it. :teeth: Also near laundry, and GCH! I did later get a poly paper, and noticed that "turn down" was NOT listed under the ammenities as ususal, so we did not request it, I assume it has been cancelled for the general rooms. (Also noted this @ CR) . Our housekeeping at the Poly was SPECTACULAR we had towels and more towels, extra's & extra's. They really spoil you.
;) All other Cm's where wonderful and friendly, I will say that the front desk staff really does not look familiar. They seem to have a lot of new people? Not sure where they all have went but we missed out favorites. :( The pools were great, we really like the quite pool, and like the work they recently did, the new tile looks great!

Park notes: Don't think we want to go in the summer for some time. Very crowded, and hot, and not a good formula. I can count on 1 hand the # of excuse me's & thank you's. Seemed like disney is refurbishing alot for our future enjoyment too! ;) Mosquito's where very bad at dusk & at nite. And I think there should be a "cell phone" area near the smoking area. standing in a 75 minute line behind a call is really interesting. (using term interesting = lose here).

Any questions? MKY princess: Wishing I was still there! ;)

thank you for the honest trip report! much appreciated as we head to CR in a couple weeks and i can only hope there aren't a lot of conventioneers there...

"And I think there should be a "cell phone" area near the smoking area. standing in a 75 minute line behind a call is really interesting. (using term interesting = lose here)."

I'm with you on that! Last time I was in the MK it was a nightmare for my husband trying to navigate my wheelchair through people wandering aimlessly while having stupid (yes, I said it, stupid) and unnecessary conversations on their cell phones! They SHOULD restrict their use to a certain area just like they used to have the big phone banks. you had to go there to make a call and it made the MK so much more pleasant.

I really don't want to hear a teenaged girl talking explicitely about what she did with her BF the night before on her cell while we're stuck in line at Peter Pan. Yes, this happened to me.

Anyway...I think I'll start a thread on this somewhere...thank you for the reviews of CR and the Poly, sorry you had some troubles at both but it sounds like overall your trip was great!

MKY, thanks for the resort report. Boy, you had a nice long trip!

We spent 8 nights at WDW in July. Our first 3 were at the GF. Check-in was a breeze. No wait and handled efficiently. We had a great time there. Then we moved to the Polynesian. I know you are long time fans there too. It did feel like going home. And I too noticed lots of new faces.

Anyway, for the first time I can remember, checkin took forever. There were a number of people in line and the line moved very, very slowly. Not at all what we're accustomed to at the Polynesian. The gentleman I had when I finally reached the front was friendly but like you, I didn't get the card (I remembered right before I left the lobby) with the # to call to see if the room was ready. Didn't get the Island Palm Press or parks brochures or time schedule. I went back later in the stay and stood in a slow line to get the Island Press and the girl who gave it to me looked like I had two heads for asking for one. Also, I asked the first guy to hold my DH's insulin kit and he started to take it and then said.."Oh, does it have needles in it." Well, yes. Well then we can't keep it. I told him that I'd just take the needles out then but that we had left it on many previous trips when the room wasn't ready. Then he changed his mind and took it syringes and all. Not sure what that was about. He was however very friendly as were all the CMs we met. Anyway, we had a great time at the Polynesian. Maybe there are a lot of new CMs at the desk or maybe they've cut staffing. I sure hope it's not the latter.

I agree the parking lot side of Rarotonga is not a bad view at all. I took many photos for my web page to show how nice the view is and it must be great to watch the monorail go by. There is a large area of garden before you even get near the parking lot. I was not sure if you could even see it from the 3rd floor but I could tell you can not from the 1st and 2nd.

Thanks for the report.

Aloha

Steve
