We will be staying at the CR in early March (where are those wonderful AP rates I hear everyone talking about!?) and have decided to stay in a wing room. I have read so much about the convenience of staying in the North wing due to its proximity to the path to MK and some rooms with views of MK.....but we tend to spend a lot of time at the pool in the afternoon and like to have a quiet, peaceful place to relax after the parks so I was thinking we'd be better off in a South wing room. Also, extra walking is not a problem for us....we recently stayed at BC and we easily walked form BC to Epcot to MGM and back again! Can anyone offer their opinions on the N/S wing thing? Thank you!!

We stayed at the far end of the south wing back in June. From your post, it sounds like you might prefer the south wing. If you imagine a "T' shape, our room was on the bottom of the right side of the crossbar. It was very quiet & we had a nice garden view. We had two options to get from the pool to our room. We could go through the door in the middle of the vertical part of the "T", or we could take the scenic route around the top of the "T" (left to right) & enjoy looking at the lake. The part we didn't like was how long it took to walk from our room to the Food & Fun Center to use the refillable mugs.

Many will answer the North wing because it is closer to the MK, but I am going to be different and say the South. We found it to be very peaceful and quiet. It was a bit further walk to the MK, but not much. We had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking Bay Lake, which was wonderful, and we could lie in bed and watch the Electrical Light Pageant on Bay Lake every night.

Hope you have a wonderful time!

i just have to say that the cr is not a resort with alot of walking . no matter where you are your walk is really nothing as far a being close to the pool you are talking about a matter of maybe a 50ft difference in the proximaty to the pool. the rooms in both wings are the same and the buildings are identical. everyone makes such a big deal on being closer to the pool or the mk the only difference is you might be able to see the mk from the north wing but as far as the walks there is not much difference.
