Do they use one of the boats that can take ECVs on this route? Last time I was at WL the boat to MK was sometimes accessible, sometime not.

I don’t use ECVs & only rarely take that route. But we were going from CR to FW on Christmas Eve. The party in front of us had to wait for a different boat because the 1st one that came couldn’t take their ECV. I don’t know anything about how many boats they run or how many are accessible. But apparently that party knew there was at least 1 that could take them.

The normal operation that I’ve seen on the CR/WL/FW loop has been two of the small launches that aren’t accessible. In the pre-Covid times they would alternate small launch/big boat, but I haven’t seen that since the resort loop restarted. I don’t know exactly what happens in situations like @focusondisney described above - eg, if a big one happened to be running that night or if they have the ability to call one to do an ad-hoc pickup on that route if needed.

My mom uses an ecv and I do occasionally as well. This is one of the reasons I'm hesitant to book at WL.

There’s usually two cruisers on the green flag route, which is between FW and MK. There’s usually a launch and a cruiser on the red flag route, which is between WL and MK. Cruisers can take ECV’s, launches can’t. There’s usually two launches on the blue flag route, which is between CR, WL, and FW. If someone in an ECV wants to go on the blue route, the launch driver can call one of the cruisers for help.

The boats on the red route are usually 10 to 15 minutes apart, so if you have an ECV make sure you allow a bit more time.
