Stayed at the CR for the first time this weekend. Stayed on the 14th floor.

The room (4915) was pretty big. It was handicap accessible. Had two double beds. A filled refrigerator that didn't need a key!!!:D

Had a balcony with a view of MK and everything else. Didn't believe a person could see non Disney property from a resort, but I did (other side of MK). I think we were able to spot the big "tree" at the AK.

The lounge was a decent size with many tables, chairs couches etc. and a balcony with tables and chairs.

It was amazing. Even though the floor was almost full during our stay, there was never more than two couples in the lounge while we were in there and we went at various times (7,8,9 AM) for breakfast. Only went to one of the 5 PM hot food offerings and again there was only one other couple. There were two hot dishes (egg rolls and shrimp with rice) along with a sauteed sliced tomato cheese dish. Plus the usual cubed cheese and dip tray.

I've stayed at the Poly, BWI, AKL, YC, BC, and Swan concierge levels and always had to "fight the crowds".

They did have drinks out, but they were not cold. So, I swapped the warm for the cold ones in the refrigerator. BUT, they did stock (and have out) my caffiene free diet coke. Only place on site that I know of.

All in all, a great experience.

Welcome home! Sounds like you had a great stay! Could you please explain where the lounge is located, as well as your room? Would you happen to know what the room number ranges are on both sides?

The lounge is adjacent to the elevators on the MK side. The conceirge desk is right next to the elevators. The lounge is about as wide as three standard rooms. The lounge is the same length (from corridor to balcony) as the rooms.

The corridors were laid out as the letter H. There were no interior rooms. There were no room doors on the opposite wall from our room. Our room was 4915 and was on the MK side on the leg closest to MK. There were at least two suites on our half of the MK side (maybe a total of 10 rooms)

So, guessing, the room numbers on the MK side went from 4901 to 4920 (4920 being the closest to MK).

Our room had two connecting doors. One connected to a suite(4914) and the other connected to a non handicapped standard room(4916).

On the bay side, there was a suite roughly where the lounge was on the MK side. Rooms may be numbered 4921 to 4940.

Hope it made sense.

We really enjoyed our trip to the Contemporary 14th floor. We had room 4913 last year. I was told then that they were going to start to have guests check-in at the concierge desk. We also experienced no crowds in the lounge.

Thank you for your post!

Did they also have bottled water set out?

How long before your trip did CR Concierge staff contact you?

We will be there in June and I can't wait!

Just thought I'd let you know, Polynesian concierge also offers Caffeine Free Diet Coke! We asked for it several years ago because my husband prefers caffeine free. The lounge not only stocked it for him, but brought a 6 pack to our room for him to keep on hand!

When we were there last, it was readily available--in fact, I had a hard time getting to the bottom of the barrel for the good stuff--caffeinated Diet Coke. ;)

Thanks for the post and welcome home! As a caffeine-free diet coke fan, I'm glad to know where to find it now! :)

Betterlatethannever, thanks for your review. What color scheme did your room have? The same garish colors that the rest of the resort has? Or the more muted tones that the suites have? By the way, if you have photos, please post the link to them.

I'm sure you could see my apartment from there (right behind MK)... seeing as how I can see the Contemporary from my balcony.

Sorry about the delay in answering your questions. My son is doing a powerpoint presentation for a project in high school, and he has been on the computer pretty much the entire time i've been home or awake this weekend. Amazing what students do nowadays. I was excited when they came out with erasable paper for my typewriter. I don't know if the computer/internet makes a better student or not. guess that discussion is for the debate board. :D

Are you sure they weren't queen sized beds?

The colors were : gold walls, tan carpet, chair was green, bedspreads had all these colors in them.

if you have photos, please post the link to them.

Since I have no idea on how to put picutres on the internet, I'll have to wait until my other son (computer guru) gets home from college for Christmas break to see if he can show me.

So, does that qualify as a Tyler sighting on the Transportation board? LOL

Chip N Dale Express...aren't you the CM I ran into with my 2 girls on the 4th floor of the Contemporary Saturday?! It was around 1:00-ish on Saturday. I was down with my 2 girls. There was a little boy there with his dad doing some pin trading. My dd had to run back up to the room to get her pins to trade with you!? I remember you saying how you lived so close to the MK and your job with Disney! :D If it wasn't you, I'm just slightly embarassed at this point. :o
