We're doing Disney on a budget this time and definitely want to catch the CP. We'll be there Dec. 1-8 and have two kids ages almost 5 and 7 (both of whom are picky eaters!). Is it worth paying the price for the dinner pkg? I've never been that time of year, and I'm not sure how crowded the place is then. We're looking at going on a Friday night.

Also, the Disney website lists the narrators. Is that not accurate? We picked that Friday largely because the other website said it would by Phylicia Rashad. Help me out here, please!

When I booked this morning the speakers had not been released yet. I just checked the disneyworld website and just from the dates they had listed I have to say that those are last years dates. There are no shows this year until Nov. 29/30.

I would say with kids, it is DEFFIENTLY worth not having to wait for an hour or more in line. The cost is not that much more then w/o the package, depending on where you are going. For the Buffets (like Garden Grill) the cost of the kids meal ends up being less then the cost plus tip, since gratuity is included in the cost of the package. For the adults, it is less then $5 more then the cost of the meal alone

I agree that it's worth it. You get 15% off your shopping at Epcot that day, so if you buy most of your purchases that day, you can save a lot. Not having to wait in line for the show is nice as well.

I would recommend that you carefully look at the menus for the restaurants and decide which one will be the most valuable for you. We ate at Garden Grille last year and enjoyed it. Some of the other restaurants are a better deal if you eat all of the food, but we never would have been able to, and DH loves buffets and family style meals anyway.

If you plan CP on a weekday during that first week of December, you won't need the dinner package to ensure a seat. Unless you were planning a sit down dinner in EPCOT anyway, I would not spend the money in your situation. Just arrange to be near the Amercian Gardens Theater about an hour ahead of time. Take a look at the stand by line (it will be the line on the right as you face the theater) and compare the line size with the available seating. You should be able to see how much of the theater is reserved for dinner package guests. During the first week on a weekday, my best guess is that you won't have to wait more than 30 minutes in line to get a seat. Not sure about the Friday night - you'll probably be just fine then, too, but you might have to jump in line a little earlier if you want a seat. Feel free to ask one of the CMs standing nearby for last minute advice. Good luck!

Enjoy the show!
