Should I get a Candlelight Processional dining package or risk the standby line...going 12/16 through 12/23? Anybody have luck as a single in the standby line?

I really don't think that being a single in the standby line would be that great of advantage unless the people in front of you really want to stay as a group and let you pass in front of them. Truthfully I have never done the standby line, have always done the package even as a single.

I always get the package, even as a solo. This way I know I have a ticket to a specific performance and don't have to wait in that long line, with no guarantees of getting a seat.

The standby line is not like a ride line. After those with tickets are let in and seated, then they start letting people in from the standby line on a first come basis. Once they hit the limit, the line is stopped. Also, these are long benches and not actual seats, so it is harder for them to see empty spots.

I also suggest the dining package. When we there, people waited HOURS in the stand-by line. And those people weren't guaranteed a seat. If you get the dining package, you are guaranteed a seat. We got there about an hour before the show, and were in the 2nd row of the main section. It was, by far, my favorite thing we did our entire holiday trip. It was uplifting, beautiful, amazing, I could keep going and going.... I had goosebumps and tears in my eyes the entire time, and I truly wish we could go every year. (can you tell I really enjoyed it?!) It is true you can hear it without being in the theater (we got to hear it twice) but to be in there with all that magic, it is breathtaking. So yeah, I suggest the package!

Definitely go with the dining package. I did this solo 2 years ago and ate at Biergarten Restaurant. That was an awesome experience and the families I sat with were very nice. Not having to stand in line for a seat made the night that much more enjoyable.

Most people you sit with at the Biergarten are nice enough to include you in the table conversation. It's the cheapest CP package you can get. The buffet has enough to please everyone's appetite; it's not just German food. If you time your reservations correctly you can even see a musical show. Finally, you will not have a long walk from the restaurant to the CP line.

Remember, you get a reserved spot for the Illuminations fireworks, too included in the package if it's the same as last year.

You have to eat anyway; so, the upcharge is not too bad to get the reserved seating for CP.

Definitely do the package. Three of us went last year for the first time and it was the highlight of our trip!:thumbsup2

I think the package is worth it. It was the highlight of the trip last year. I agree that being solo wouldn't offer an advantage in the standby line.

I have gone with the stand by line many times and have never been turned away. I know that the line seems endless but I have even shown up at show time and gotten in. I too am going solo this December but have decided that the package meal is way too much for me. However if the celeb narrator is very popular or someone you must see then go for it.

In reality you don't get as good of a seat if you do stand-by even if you do get into the CP Processional.

There can be times like a less popular narrator and a bad weather day that may allow you greater access to the show, but it still is not the same as doing the package because of the seating availability. Many times it's standing room only.

I really feel you enjoy the whole experience more getting the package.
