CP ALUMNI?? for Main Ops, Transportation, Recreation, PhotoPass

Can you give us a summary of what you really did and what "could" have been required. For instance - you were located in a park, but others w/ your same role were located in a different location. Plus I have questions...

We've read the job descriptions, but since DS is an alumni (QSFB) he knows there's nothing like being in the role to understand the requirements and possibilities of assignments.

Need summaries for
Main Enterance Operations:
Assigned to a park and rotated to Parking lot???? or stuck for example in a parking lot or toll booth everyday.

Transportation:Did you drive any? what?

Recreation:Did you move around to different locations or resorts?

Photo Pass:Do you have to have experience in photography? or can you assist? or do sales?

MEO: For the Magic Kingdom MEO is actually Main Street Operations and doesn't include the parking lot. It does include Town Square Theatre, Turnstiles, Steam Train Operations, Sorcerer of the Magic Kingdom and Parade Audience Control. For trains you're a conductor on the back of the train or the platform. For turnstiles you're taking tickets, opening gates, refilling maps. Theatre you're the one running the queues and entrance. For Sorcerer you're giving out cards and explaining how it all works. And PAC is the people who stand around during parades keeping people from in the street, that's the hardest and most frustrating role because it leads to the most guest confrontations, but is also one of the most fun.

Transportation: There are currently two areas you can be assigned to. Bus Greeter or Watercraft. Bus greeters are the ones who wear simple white shirts and black pants and make sure the buses are fully loaded and people are going where they need to be. For watercraft you either end up at Sassagoula or Magic Kingdom. At Sass. you start driving within a week, and are driving the boats around Downtown Disney. At Magic Kingdom you spend your first month or two on the boats learning the operation and tying/untying the boats, doing audience control that sort of stuff. Then you learn how to drive the medium sized boats between the campground/lodge and Magic Kingdom.

Bus greeter can be extremely frustrating as you're the first cast member people go to to blame when things are 100%. But you get a lot of guest interaction. At river cruise you get a lot of guest interaction and are on your own, but the hours are always late since it is based on DTD hours. At MK you get a lot of guest interaction, are mostly out from under the thumb of management, but can end up working very late hours.

Recreation: I believe usually you are limited to a single resort are resort area.

so does that mean that for transportation you no longer have the option of driving the monorail or actual buses. your just a greeter or watercraft driver?

I know someone who did Main Entrance Operations at Epcot and was only in the parking lot, not the turnstiles or the toll plaza.

Yes, monorails no longer take CPs due to the incident in 2009. And CPs were never able to drive buses due to Federal DOT rules.
