Cozumel - Mr. Sanchos vs Fury Catamaran Sail Snorkel and Beach Party

Hi all! We are on the Fantasy in less than 3 weeks! We have a group of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids - 11, 11, 7). We originally wanted to book the Fury Catamaran excursion in Cozumel, but only one group was able to get it due to different booking dates. Therefore, we made reservations at Mr. Sancho's independently. I was just able to snag a reservation for 7 for the Fury Catamaran Sail Snorkel & Beach Party. We can cancel Mr. Sancho's without issue and the cost is relatively close enough. Has anyone done both or done one and felt strongly about it? We're trying to decide which is the better option, especially for the kids!

My daughter and her family of 6 did the fury catamaran sept 2019 and enjoyed it very much. The kids were 14 and 12 and the crew took extra time to help them snorkle for the first time. It’s one of the only excursions my daughter said the whole family enjoyed.

I think there’s a couple of things that separate the two experiences. The catamaran obviously includes a great boat ride, and we really enjoyed that, especially the trip back to the ship after the end of the excursion. Mr. Sancho’s does have an inflatable water park, but there is an extra fee, so you need to add that in to whatever you’re paying for the day pass. They also have snorkeling, but that’s also for a fee. On the catamaran excursion, you’ll get snorkeling, the beach experience with the inflatable waterpark included. The catamaran excursion does include soft drinks, beer, and margaritas, but the restaurant at the beach club is an extra fee. I think one thing to consider is whether your family would enjoy spending all day on the beach at one location or having a snorkeling experience and some beach time in addition to the catamaran ride.

Another consideration is weather. I had to change activities when boat excursions were cancelled. Perhaps keep the catamaran booking - and have booking contact information ready for Mr Sanchos or Paradise Beach if conditions require you to change to land-based option.
