Hello!
Has anyone done the Dolphin Encounter? (Not the swim) ... The swim got great reviews, but I just noticed the encounter opened up ... it says 40 min interaction. The swim is 40 min; however it's one person at a time. I'm wondering if you get more dolphin interaction time in the encounter? Cheers!

We did the Cozumel Dolphin Encounter in January, 2017, so...for what it's worth post-pandemic.....we (in all, a group of about 10-12) got nice interaction time with the dolphin. Not 'swim' time, though. So depending on the experience you're looking for... that's how I'd choose. With us, we got shaking hands, dancing with, splashing each other...and a few other things I can't remember right now. It was definitely fun though. Hope you have a great trip!

THANK YOU!! I’m leaning towards interaction not swimming … do you remember if you were in a different area than the people swimming with the dolphins? Cheers!

I do not remember specifically, however, we were in a very large enclosed area, so .... perhaps that was going on in another part of the 'pool'. I attached some pictures to give you some idea of the area...they aren't the best representations of the experience though.

Sorry to bug you again .... another question / clarification ... were you able to get in the water with the dolphins or did the dolphins come to the side and you were on the outside of the pool?

We were in Grand Cayman, but...

We'd planned and booked the Interaction, but when we got to the place, they were offering to upgrade to the swim for $20 or something like that so we upgraded. We ended up staying in the Interaction group but then afterwards, they sent everyone else away and kept my son and I to do the swim so it was basically completely private! So you may want to consider asking about upgrades when you get there (I think most of the Caribbean dolphin places are the similar, lol).
