Hi all,

I've seen Cowboy Cookout mentioned on a few posts now and I am ashamed to say I have actually never ate there before :scared1:

I'm sure I've seen it in the park, if I remember rightly it is in Frontierland at the back towards near Woody's Roundup?? Is this right?

Also, is this a restaurant as such? How does it all work? :confused3 Will it need reservations as such or would turning up on the door be ok?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just a bit in awe with the fact there's somewhere I haven't been

I've eaten there once back in 2008. the service was slowish but the bbq food was good. its a counter service place. ie walk up. order what you want. then carry it to a table. No reservations etc.

and yep its where you described :)

Thank you for that, I am definately going to give it a try during my next trip - I do love BBQ food!!

do you like the veal sausages aswel rottie 155?? much to my dissappointment my dd hated them :rolleyes1 her mammy didnt!!

their bbq sauce is devine, theres a band sometimes and little hungry ducks wandering around the cute little barn!! i heard talks of it being a charactor meal now :confused3

we had assiette texans which are sausages, chicken leg, wedges and their yummy bbq sauce! a firm favourite of mine

From the brochure it looks like this is taking over from the Lucky Nugget for character lunches from April, so I assume it wont be counter service any more? Who is going first in April? We will need a detailed review :lmao:

kizzabel it sounds devine!! I am going to certainly be enjoying my food in there then popcorn::

 Sarah yes, anyone going in April needs to give us all of the details!!!! Knowing my luck they will have it closed in March whilst I'm there to refurb or something :headache:

they are holding the character tea party there at the moment. We went a couple of weeks ago and because of the parks closing at 6pm, and the tea party being 5pm-6pm, it was only open to tea party guests at the time. I don't know what the normal food is like, but the tea party food was pretty average :s, but the character interaction was fantastic and made it worth the 18 euros each!

When you say tea-party was it typical tea-party foods? i.e. cakes, pastries etc?

What characters were about out of curiousity?

Sounds like this is definately going to be worth a visit for us, I shall have to take plenty of photos to show everyone as well

the tea party food was fruit salad (tinned), small custard filled donuts, plain donuts, crepes with choc or caramel sauce, yoghurt, biscuits...
to be honest, it all tasted the same! I was expecting scones, cream cakes etc, so I was a bit disappointed with the food.

The characters we had were, Woody, Jessie, Mickey, Minnie, Captn. Hook, Mr Smee and Goofy. The band also played for a little while at the start too.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

We stopped at Cowboy Cookout for a quick drink on our most recent visit just after New Year. 'Quick drink' is probably not the right phrase to use as, while most of our party sat down at a table, I queued for a whole hour (!) to get 4 cups of coffee and 2 cokes.

When we eventually reached the counter, there was one member of staff trying to process orders from about 5 different tills, and we ended up taking our order back 3 times as it was not correct!

Funny how one incident can put you off a restaurant!

We didn't try the tea party - but it looked quite nice on the poster!

with so many other places to get a simple drink why bother to queue for an hour? I dont mean to be rude but waiting around for that long is a bit silly. Especially if they are obviously busy/slow that day. If that were me I'd have walked out and gone to another place.
