COVID State of Emergency - Lifted for Orange County?

It seems if they intend for the mandate to continue, they would restock their mask supply.
from what I’ve heard (correct me if wrong) Disney (and lots of other retailers) started clearance-ing out their masks prematurely as mandates were being dropped and vaccines were ramping up and than the delta surge hit and places sold out of their slim supply (with Disney even hiking their masks back up to full price) and due to supply issues they just never could get product back

I'm doubting that it would happen quickly. This is an issue that would need to be negotiated with the union to assure proper safeguards for the CM.
Well, they can't stay like this forever, you know. Maybe they'll come back to meet n greet by early next year.

I just want to not wear masks when we go in May. Ruins ride photos.

And I say this as a fully vaxxed person that doesn't even mind wearing them. It's just...my pictures.

I so agree with this, its the pictures that bug me more than anything especially with 3 kids. I won't pay for many things that require them since I refuse to have a whole bunch of masked pictures, I can just do other things.

The indoor meet and greets stink for me because of the masks.

Same here. What makes it even worse a lot of the Disney experience as a parent is kids seeing characters and the memories of it . I have a thousand photos from our Jan 2020 trip. Maybe 100 from our Jan 2021 trip.

Been enjoying a lot of other activities that are completely normal since June including other amusement parks where my kids can hug and get photos with the characters.

I totally get that and feel much the same way. But the masked photos will be some of your most unique and attention grabbing many years from now.

That said, we got lucky and hit on that short window this summer when masks weren't required indoors or out. And I was quite happy about it.

For some of us the mask photos will never be unique, maybe a couple but that’s it, not all the ones that mask our kids reactions and smiles and looks of fear .

Yeah, I get it. Just trying to offer up a tiny bit of a different perspective. Bottom line is none of us has any control over it except how we react.

We did Universal Orlando from 9/30 - 10/3 and then Disney from 10/3 - 10/9. Universal has no mask mandate and everything is open. All restaurants, gift shops and shows. It was awesome! Plus during HHN it was wall to wall people. We check in at Riviera and wearing a mask just sucked. I do understand the need (I had a severe case of Covid-19 in August ) but Disney needs to make up their mind. They announce to social distance from others but shove you all together on rides like HM in the stretching room and the queue for Space Mountain to name a few. Mask have to be worn on BTMRR but not on Slinky Dog Dash. There is no consistency at all at WDW.

We went to Disney in August and we’re disappointed that masks were reinstated, but I get it. Thank goodness we didn’t have to wear masks when outside. We did not get MM this time only because I wasn’t interested in having ride photos with masks on. We are going back in April with our sons’ marching band and I really hope they are gone by then. I do not see Disney changing the indoor mask mandate until the CDC changes their stance, since they seem to be following the CDC.

lol... reading this thread as I sew up a batch of new Disney themed masks for our Jan trip. even if the mandate is lifted, we will still choose to wear our masks indoors and when in close quarters with crowds. I really enjoyed not being sick at all last winter.... no colds, no flu, and thankfully no covid. Will be nice to not have them for pictures.
